We're Gold C&C members, any perks for us?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

DH and I can't wait for our Allure cruise in October. It's only our 2nd RCCL cruise (just our 3rd overall) so we're just Gold C&A members. We've seen the list of perks for every C&A level on RCCL's site, but is there anything else you can tell us? I thought I read in someone's review recently that because they were Gold, that embarkation was quicker for them? How so? Also will RCCL automatically know that we're C&A members?

Thanks!

Your SetSail pass will have your C&A level printed on it, so the port personnel can direct you to the proper check-in line. After you check-in, if general boarding has not started, you will be directed to the gold level waiting area. You will board after the suite and higher level C&A members, but before the non-C&A members.

There may be some confusion between Gold C&A and a gold card.

A gold C&A member only receives what is posted on RCL's web site,

persons having a gold card are those who are in a suite or are a Pinnacle level member.

Your setsail pass will have your level printed on it.

OK great, thanks Bob.

One more question, we booked a Central Park balcony on Allure but we did look at the suites before we booked it. The suite prices are so much higher than non-suites, do higher C&A levels get very steep discounts on suites? We just can't imagine paying those rates for a vacation.

OH, got it, didn't realize that suite people actually were Gold card people too. Thanks for clearing that up.

You didn't mention the type of cabin! If you have an Inside Suite and Jose is your Butler, you can request Gummy Bears and Twinkies! Those are my favorite freebies. Anything else can be requested by Jose who is a great

Butler! Have a great cruise and enjoy the freebies. Bon Voyage!

On a 7 day cruise you would save about $250 for the cabin, so no there are not steep discounts.

Didn't realize that there were perks like that! Is that just from Jose or are there other freebies like that available? We're not Twinkie or Gummy Bear people but that's a really nice little sweet treat!

If you are gold C&A there are some coupons that will be loaded on your Seapass. Sorry I do not have the link to the list handy, but some I remember are one BOGO milkshake at Johnny Rockets, one BOGO alcoholic drink, 10% off Internet package, a coin for a special slot machine in the casino, some store discounts etc. Hopefully someone will come along and post the link to the list

Higher level C&A members do get discounts on any stateroom with a balcony, but the most that discount could be on a 7-day cruise is $250 per stateroom.

Sorry but IsanTom didn't read that you were not actually in a suite - only those in suites (i.e. Gold card holders, not Gold status on C & A) get a butler who can organise those sort of treats.

It is confusing with 'Gold' being the label for two different types of thing. Your card will be the usual blue colour with Gold Crown and Anchor printed on it. Suites guests actually have a gold coloured card which lets them in to areas which are restricted to suite guests only.

I'm a Gold member and in my opinion, I don't get any perks. The only thing I can recall being worth using on our last cruise was the buy one get one free at Johnny rockets, but we didn't even end up using it. I guess we also got to stand in the Gold line to get on the ship, but because our friends were first timers, we ended up waiting for them to get through their line anyway. I guess that part is nice (getting through the line faster), but to have to take 4 or 5 cruises just to get something more than that seems a bit long to wait for a worthwhile perk for me. But it doesn't change anything, Im still a loyal Royal cruiser.

The only perk that I recall as gold level, is that we were invited to a C&A gathering on first sea day, and got free champagne and cocktails.

The welcome back party is still being held.
