Summit Solarium Questions

Hello...

I've been on Summit multiple times but never used the solarium.

Is it usually a nice, quiet place to just sit and veg out?

Also, is it possible to get food, or drinks at the solarium?

I'm hoping this is a nice place where DW and I can just veg out for hours at a time.

Thanks

Whether it is 'nice and quiet' can vary greatly due to many factors. A day at sea in cool or rainy weather? It will be crowded and not too quiet. A day in port in the Caribbean in nice weather- virtually a ghost town. Alaska in late afternoon - wall to wall people. Cold weather cruises during the afternoon - sometimes they open up the solarium to children under 16 since they can't use the regular pool at all.

One of my very favorite places to chill during the quiet times. Other times, not so much.

I've used the Solarium on both Solstice and Equinox and it was one of my favorite areas of the ship. I'll be on Summit in October and anxious to see that Solarium as I understand it is even better?

We love the Solarium on the Summit. X really missed the mark when they didn't put thalassotherapy pools on the S class ships. The Aqua Spa cafe serves breakfast and lunch. They also have a healthy smoothie menu which is covered by the Classic Beverage Pkg. I really like their light lunches, plated grain salads, cold soups and light but delicious desserts (don't miss the peach bread pudding.) They have water with fruit slices in large containers with pour spouts. The pool bar is just outside so getting a drink is convenient. As with all pools on cruise ships, at sea days can be crowded. After 6 cruises on the Summit the Solarium is our favorite place to be.
