Price confusion

Looking at a 9 day cruise. On Royal website price was 3100. Then checked an online travel agency, price 2285 for same category. Seems too big of a difference. Does this happen often?

Could be a group booking price on the TA site. No, usually, if you are comparing apples-apples - the price is the same.

The online agency could have group space reserved.

Yes, very possible and the others are correct that it is due to group booking/buying a group of cabins. I was unsure the first time I noticed the price difference too, book & enjoy your "savings". :)

Don't be put off by the term 'group '. You do not have to travel, eat , play etc with the group.:)

We have saved hundreds over the years by being part of a group rate.

Just make sure that the cheaper price has the port charges and taxes included. Then you are really comparing apples to apples.

I would also check what, if any, fees are charged by the online agency if you need to cancel or make any changes to your reservation. Some agents and agencies charge fees in addition to any that are charged by the cruise line.
