Hilarious, by the way, that I'm absent for a day and you all turn this into a giant food review.

 

Everyone's a critic! OK, now, back to my pretyped story of my day In SXM.

 

Finally, I stumbled off the ship. It was so late, the crew was getting off.

 

 

You know me, if I see a gaggle of good looking men, I'm gonna follow them.

 

These young bucks soon outpaced me, but, I fell in with one of the musicians, an older man from Jamaica. We chatted as we walked along until I got to my spot.

 

The view was exactly as I remembered it.

 

 

The beach, however, was not.

 

 

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot. :mad:

 

 

 

 

I'm not trespassing, I'm walking around.

Well, now, I didn't know what to do. I was probably halfway to town, there were bars, restaurants, beaches there.

 

But, I had never went that way and I was shouldering my disappointment from my beach being tore up.

 

I decided to go back to port, get a Guavaberry Colada and figure it out from there.

 

I asked this guy what I should do.

 

 

Atlas Shrugged.

 

While nursing (gulping) my GC, I decided to take the water taxi to town. I had never done that before and that is the purpose of reviews, to try new things.

 

 

 

When you get off the water taxi, there is a little beach right there, perfect for me and it had a great view, as well. We were the only ship in SXM, if you can believe that!

 

 

$5 quickly got me a chair and an umbrella.

Kitty refused to pay for a chair.

 

She said "her people" had been doing their business in the sand forever and she wasn't about to change that.

 

The view from my chair was spectacular. :D

 

 

He was here in March, as well, selling jet ski and banana boat rides.

 

 

 

Kitty says pirates know booty and he has booty for days. :eek:

A simple banana boat ride among friends, what could possibly go wrong?

 

 

Oops, it must be a bucking banana.

 

 

 

All's well that ends well. They were all rescued and continued their quest to dominate the banana.

 

 

This dog has distinguished himself all day by being completely indistinguishable from the sand.

 

 

While my chair was being set up, I had to look twice to make sure he wasn't a sand sculpture. He was finally up and moving around.

 

 

 

Well, his master must be one of the jet ski guys because when the jet ski would speed along the beach, he turned into Wonderdog! He chased that jet ski for all he was worth!

Little legs pumping, ears flapping, he looked like me at the Charlotte airport.

 

Eventually, it was time for me to head home.

I was once on a Carnival ship that WAS hit by a rogue wave. I was in a lounge (believe it or not :D) and everyone's drinks fell to the ground! I grabbed my little table to keep from falling off my chair.

 

I was also in a plane that was struck by lightning in the Bermuda Triangle.:eek:

 

When I was 10, I traveled from MA to CA to go to Disneyland and there was an earthquake. :eek:

 

And, Ive posted this several times, sorry if you've heard it before, but, I was in Haiti on the day of the earthquake in 2010.

 

I bet all you people saying you would like to travel with me are changing your minds now. :eek:

 

God keeps trying to get me, but, I keep on keeping on. That's why I keep traveling, if I stay in one place too long, he might find me.

It's Snowy, the beach dog. He hung with us in March, basically sleeping. He only chased one jet ski and the rest he could not care less about. The guy who rented them said the one must make a sound that he can hear and makes him chase or go after it.

Perfect, When I'm gone, have a slice in my memory. :D Trust me, I feel your pain, Lynchburg VA is not a place to find good NY style pizza. They think Dominos and Papa John is good pizza. And, don't even get me started on the Chinese food! :eek:

Kitty and I decided to model our robes.

 

 

Those of you who don't write reviews have no idea how much work goes into them. Smuggling washcloths off the ship to use as Kitty beach towels, hours spent folding hand towels into Kitty sized bathrobes, it's really quite exhausting. (Obviously :D:D).

Lunch was make your own sandwiches, which seemed to be pick your own sandwiches from these premade ones, which was fine. If there was an actual deli set up somewhere, I missed it.

 

 

I had another milkbreadroll and a six grain French baguette with tuna. both very nice.

 

I had started feeling sick on the beach and decided to take a nap after lunch, shocking, I know.

 

I managed to wake up just in time for dinner. Unfortunately, dinner tonight was English Pub Night and still feeling a little under the weather, things like Kidney Pie, Shepherd's Pie, etc just weren't calling my name. I stuck with my tried and true.

 

 

On my way to the show, they were setting up for the White Party up by the pool.

 

 

These are the lights on the stairs in the theater. The photo doesn't show it, but, they are very bright. While you're stepping up, the lights are hitting you in the eye and you can't see where you are stepping. I can't recall how other ships do it, maybe there are lights, but, just not as bright?

 

 

Also, I have talked previously about the dangerous final step in the theater, as you go down. Here you can see, a member of the Entertainment Team (what I would call the Cruise Director's Team), is standing on the landing after you've gone down all the stairs. Except, you take 2 steps and then you are plunged down one last step. You can see that step behind her.

 

 

 

A lot of people, including me, have fallen here. The other night, an elderly couple was trying to leave the show during the final bows. She fell up that last step, and, he, rushing to catch her, also fell. Please. be careful here. Also, there is no rush to leave, there is no traffic. I sit in my seat for 5 minutes after the show has ended and then walk casually out with the house lights on, you can see the people in front of you all stepping up, so, you realize you have to, as well. End of lecture.

Also, this has happened a few times, but, my camera doesn't take a wide enough shot to capture it. While I'm waiting for the elevator, I can see what floor the elevators are on. At this moment, and others, the elevators were at 6-6-6. :D Did I summon them or did they conjure up me? I'm not sure.

 

 

The show tonight was Witches of Paris and it is one of my favorites. Like all their shows, there is no plot, it is just an excuse to have people in witch costumes, sing French songs, etc. I have tried to get a few photos to give you an idea of the acts, the costumes, etc.

 

 

My favorites, the three acrobats.

 

This glow in the dark act, their act depends on you knowing what a typewriter is and how it works. In a few years, I predict this act will be gone.

 

The hula hoop man was back.

 

 

And, the gorgeous costumes from the Can-Can.

Wednesday morning- Puerto Rico Day.

 

 

The sun and I were both up early, but, one of us was going back to bed.

 

 

Is there one sun or two?

 

 

Ah, to redeem themselves, they put ham and cheese omelets on the buffet.

 

 

 

I already had my usual scrambled, I had taken a fried egg just because I had never seen a fried egg on a buffet, but, if they were trying to make nice by giving me my ham and cheese omelet, I was willing to eat 3 kinds of eggs. :eek:

 

 

My omelet, cut open. I challenge you to find any ham or cheese in there.
