Latitudes Points

I am aware that the Latitudes Points program has changed.

We just received Platinum status on our last cruise, 05/01/16. When I look at the website the one page states I have 77 points but the graph, if you will, shows us still at Bronze because of the points change system.

So my question is, are we grandfathered into the new system if we are already platinum?

Thanks in advance and I apologize if this subject has already been beaten to death.

After reading your post, I signed on to my NCL. I have 110 latitudes points and it lists me as platinum but the bar graph shoes me as bronze. I will be following along to see if anyone else comments. I would be rather irritated if I were to lose the 2 free dinners (mine and my wife's) and the laundry benefits. Following....

Thanks for this. I did NOT know the numbers had changed. I received platinum status after my November 2015 cruise on the escape. I see that my "thermometer" shows bronze, but at the very top, next to my name it says "Tier: Platinum." I think I would go with that word rather than the graph.

Also, if you click on the tier benefits tab and look at the bottom, the number of points to reach the various tiers has not changed. Now I'm wondering if the tier level amounts have actually changed.

They also have a couple of typos on their web pages. Their IT people are not always the best.

What tier do they have you listed as?

My account says im Gold but shows im Bronze and 14 away from Platinum. Must be a hiccup in the system but just in case I posted to their facebook page and asked what is going on. They are pretty good about getting back to people. Will let you know what they say

The website seems to be having some problems. Another example is that a number (maybe all) of us who have a cruise booked no longer see our cabin number listed on MYNCL vacation summary.

I, too, am listed as platinum but the bar says bronze. I am not sure what they are doing to MYNCL, but maybe they will work it out soon. While you can, take a screen shot of cruise history for your records.

How has the needs latitudes program changed? I was not aware of this either.

We turned Gold this month, and that status was updated immediately, and it still says we are 19 points away from platinum. The old point levels (platinum at 76) are still listed. (Like others reported, the bar status we have is now showing bronze as well.)

According to my account it states that I am 6 points away from Platinum. What happens if you reach your points while on a cruise? This Fall I have a 4-day on sky & then a 7-day on Escape.

You will receive Platinum benefits after your Escape cruise, on your next cruise, unless you have double points on the four-day cruise. Was it an inside offer, a suite, or booked nine-months out?

Unless you are getting double points on the 4 day on Sky you will not get there after that cruise.

If you are make sure that they are added before the second cruise and/or check with the Future Cruise staff on board.

If you are not getting them, the case is that you will not get there till AFTER the 7 day on Escape as points are not added till AFTER the end of the cruise.

I am listed as platinum. But if you look at the tier benefits, the platinum awards are grayed out like it does not apply to my status.

I guess it's all a bit confusing.

Mine are actually a very light blue-grey which means that's my level of benefits. I'm thinking that's what you're seeing, too.

But you know what? My cabin number doesn't show on the front page anymore, either. However, if I go to the checkin section, my cabin number does show on the right hand margin. Maybe it's a security thing on the front page? People complained about having it on the front page? I don't know, just guessing.

I don't mean to sound negative nor trying to cause an uproar.

I am just posting my opinion of NCL's perks. We cruise on Celebrity (Elite Plus), HAL (Copper), Princess (Elite), RCI (Diamond Plus) and other cruise lines.

When I compare NCL's perks to all the other cruise lines mentioned above, NCL falls way short, especially at the Platinum level.

No, we do not cruise a cruise line based on Perks, but it would be nice if NCL did provide some better perks especially for the Platinum level.

JMHO!

It would be interesting to hear what perks you get elsewhere that are better than the ones we get for being Platinum with NCL.

I am confused with NCL. I have been on three cruises (all in the haven). Unlike Princess (that gives me a card tell me what level I have) NCL gives me nothing. Does anyone know why?

Because it is so easy to look up online in "MyNCL"

That has been there for years. I don't think it has anything to do with the problems with the bar, especially since everyone still seems to see the current accrued points.
