Independence of the Seas is back in the UK!

We're on Navigator next Saturday, has she been here before or is it the first time? New to RCI [emoji7][emoji7]

She has been to Europe, not sure if she has been to England.

From reviews over the years I get the impression the Independence is a favourite ship for many: why is that? Just so I get a sense for whether I should book an Independence cruise to experience the goodness myself.

We arrived back this morning, Southampton has got to be the best port for disembarking

We elected to take our own bags off,

Caught the lift down to Deck 4 forward

No queue, walked straight off and out side in 5 minutes,

Less than 15 later and we had walked to the train station.

:)

What time was this? We have train tickets reserved and plan to do the same as you. We're hoping to catch an 8 am train to Gatwick. Thanks!

Disembarked several RCI and Celebrity cruises in Southampton. As long as the ship isn't late arriving (which I've not known yet) you can self disembark from around 6.45/7am. It's very swift with no formalities in the terminal, just walk off the ship and out of the terminal. All fine as long as you have no mobility issues and can manage your luggage.

The train station is walkable and would take around 15 mins but taxis are available (but pricey given the short journey time).

We left at around 8.45

Best to leave about 7am for the 8am train or earlier just in case they are queuing to get off early.

There were no customs checks for us

If walking to the station you will need wheeled cases,

Plenty of cabs waiting out side if needed
