MAHICK Posted May 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2016 Ladies, For those of you recently on the Breakaway, my wife is asking if the nights are cool in the Restaurants and shows due to the A/C. Thanks, Mark
gymbomb Posted May 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2016 I have not sailed breakaway yet, but pretty much ever other ship I have been on has been cool in the evenings, especially in the theater. I always pack something to wear over my short sleeve/sleeveless dinner clothes that is easy to take off and on as needed. adivineeternity Posted May 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2016 I was on last September and sometimes got a bit chilled. From what I can recall, it hasn't been unbearable inside. I'm basically the coldest person on earth, though, so I always have a sweater on me, just in case. Probably the best course of action.
cb at sea Posted May 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2016 I bring a sweater, but have never needed it. If she chills easily, bring it...better to have it, than not!
Sand and Seas Posted May 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2016 I always bring a light weight black shawl or jacket. Easy to carry with me in the evenings. Have a great cruise!
Godiva830 Posted May 19, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 19, 2016 I bring a sweater every cruise and use it every cruise. I'm always cold. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
meatball_nyc Posted May 19, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2016 Last time on Breakaway I wore my pashmina scarf as a shawl especially when dining on the Waterfront in the evenings at Cagney's or having drinks at Malting's. Once the sun goes down you will need some kind of shawl or sweater especially while the ship is underway. I was also chilly in the Manhattan Dining Room for dinner after a day in the sun at the beach. . . and I am never cold! Have a great cruise! CruiseQueenJeanne Posted May 20, 2016 #10 Share Posted May 20, 2016 I just returned from the May 1-8 cruise on the Breakaway. I am usually cold but was surprised that I really never was on this cruise. I did take a sweater and light jacket but the one or two times I wore them I wound up taking them off! I would still advise carrying one, just in case. Have fun!
lenquixote66 Posted May 21, 2016 #11 Share Posted May 21, 2016 I hope so. Thank god! I meant do they ever have heat on if it is really cold outside.
Dave85 Posted May 22, 2016 #12 Share Posted May 22, 2016 We were on last week and my wife thought it was cool around the ship at night, and was quite cold on a few occasions. I was a little chilly one night myself wearing short sleeves. Breakaway has a unique challenge with climate control because it spends the vast majority of the year -- the entire year except for the height of summer really -- bouncing between hot and cold (or cool) weather. They do a great job for the most part, but it's good to anticipate cool temperatures on board.
npater Posted May 23, 2016 #13 Share Posted May 23, 2016 Just got off BA today, when we left last Sunday was cool out, Monday was so cold on deck - the bar tenders in Uptown had on ear muffs. It was very windy which made it colder. And yes bring a sweater, some areas are cooler than others. I bring some 3/4 sleeve sweaters.

There is a reason they stock the gift shops on-board with all those rain jackets and sweatshirts!
LazyDays64 Posted May 24, 2016 #15 Share Posted May 24, 2016 I can't remember what room they have the Dueling Pianos show in but it was freezing in there the last time we were on the Breakaway a couple of years ago.
TardisDance Posted May 24, 2016 #16 Share Posted May 24, 2016 I'm always freezing so on the sea days when we're closer to Bermuda or the Caribbean, I go outside to warm up. Then I get too warm and go back inside. Rinse and repeat.
Rare mking8288 Posted May 25, 2016 #17 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Live on our other BA thread, just about right in public area with a full ship. Staterooms are chilly with middle setting. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
