We have received several Carnival gift cards that I am going to put on my S&S account. I will most likely not use all the money on them while on the cruise. Can somebody please explain to me how you do the casino cash out trick?

Thank you

Cash out from the cage?

Yes. From what I have read several times people will apply thee gift cards to there S&S accounts and then cash out the balance of what they don't use without being charged a fee. It seems to be referred to as the casino cash out trick.... I'm trying to find out exactly what I'll need to do without be charged a fee.

You put your sign & sail card into a slot machine. It will prompt you to set a PIN number. One of the button options is to transfer money from sign & sail to casino account. Transfer your money. Spin the wheel once. Cash out the machine to your player bank. Go to the cage and tell them you want to cash out your player account. It is easier then it sounds.

as an fyi, you don't even have to spin the wheel once on the slot machine. you can just add the money and cash out directly. also, it's not really a trick, it's just the way slot machines work. the only difference is how often you pull the handle. :)

Actually you do need to spin once sometimes. I have used this trick multiple times and have done it with but also without spinning. My account was frozen at another gaming table because I had not spun the machine at least once. They "scolded" me a little and explained the rules a bit. After that they unlocked my account and everything was cool. This has happened to me twice on separate cruises.

If you aren't going to USE the money..why are you putting it on your account? That's silly! They will charge you a percentage to cash out your funds. Totally unneeded! Only put a bit on your account, and bring the rest in cash...and if you need it, you have it. If you don't need it...you are NOT charged a percentage. Stupid to pay to access your own money.

Others have reported you don't pay the fee on the last night.

Why this trick works is that you can buy the gift cards below face value. Say you bought 3 $100 gift cards through AARP for $90.59 each ($271.17). You can cash those out in the casino for $300.00, or even with the 3% fee, $291.00. That's still a 7.3% return on your investment, not counting anything you get back in credit card rewards points. If you can cash out without a fee, it's a 10.6% return.

Not on slots, CB.

Yes one's account will be locked if you just take money and cash out. Mine was locked since I will take $100 from my S&S card but don't won't to have the whole amount in play. So I will put it on my card and then take out the amount from the card I want to play on the machine. Was surprised my account was locked since I never cashed out.

Just as a side note these boards are monitored by Carnival so they are aware of this. They have also stepped in when problems have been posted and been very helpful.

Wow. I've never even thought of that. I also have GCs that I've bought through AARP at 10% discount. I plan on adding the cards to my S&S as needed, though, so probably won't have much leftover.

I got fussed at and got the manager called on me for using the casino cash out trick. Was told if I came back in the casino they would block my s&s card. Granted, I missed the memo about having to do a few spins first.... but just wanted to warn you, the casino is aware of this and will give you a hard time. This happened last month for me.

The first time I did it I cashed out my account without playing. They fussed at me and than locked my account.

I apologized than did a few spins and than cashed out and all was well.

Hi there

Don't forget...if you don't cash out your account. They will mail you a check for your balance. It takes about 7-8weeks. If there is less than $5, they give it to St. Jude's (I believe).

It's happened a few times that my wife wasn't feeling well, or we just didn't want to go down on the last night. You have to be present to receive the cash. They wouldn't give me my wife's money.

i used the method for pulling out obc received from carnival. better than wasting the obc. i have only used this method 3 times and did not have to pay any of the times i used it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to get the scolding.

OP - You need to play a few spins. If you don't gamble, go to a penny machine. Play the minimum bet (there are a few machines with the minimum bet is 9 or 18 cents.

You put your sign & sail card into a slot machine. It will prompt you to set a PIN number. One of the button options is to transfer money from sign & sail to casino account. Transfer your money. It is easier then it sounds.

Below is what the buttons look like. Press the 'Change Pin' button. It will prompt you to input your DOB. Then enter a 4 digit pin #. Then confirm it.

To get amount you want to take out, Press the 'Charge Your Sail & Sign' button and enter an amount. This amount will show up on the cabin statement as "Entertainment". Play a few spins. When done, press the 'Cash Out to Your Player Bank'. Go up to the cage and tell the cashier how much you want to take out.

They only refund what they consider to be refundable obc.

When this happened to us we had taken $ 700 from our cc points for our Carnival M/C and they consider that to be nonrefundable. So either use it or lose it unless you cash out thru casino.
