Smoking banned in casino on Indy

Recommended Posts

Well re formed smokers are the worst really as everyone knows.

So you are saying we are worse than you?

You are probably just jealous that we were strong enough to stop.

Even most of the smokers on here are very polite.

I don't think most would agree with you, Lumpy

Stop your rude comments before you are reported.

The worst complainers ocean dancer.

I gave up for 2 years ...... then started again because I wanted to. I gave up because I wanted to. But I never moaned or complained about anyone while I had given up.

And yes, most would agree with me.

I'm not sure I call someone with asthma being over sensitive. It doesn't take very long before I get severe headaches and have breathing issues when around smoke. So while you might not mind it on your balcony, I would.

Exactly. Smoke can cause me to have an asthma attack. If I don't have my inhaler, then it could become very serious. Having had asthma attacks and known someone who died from an asthma attack, I would hardly call it being over sensitive.

I don't care if you smoke, just don't be rude with your comments like you were to me and to FUN33

When will the cruise lines wake up and smell the smoke! No smoking anywhere indoors, on our ships!

They tried it ...... it failed.

No, it didn't fail. Celebrity banned all indoor smoking in 2008 and it has been a success.

Also cruising from Australia is experiencing huge growth despite smoking being banned in all indoor spaces.

Hello there.

All indoor public spaces are smoke free, with the exception of the Casino, the Connoisseur Club on Freedom and Voyager Class ships, and one designated smoking venue on ships sailing from Chinese homeports. In the Casino, there are designated smoking and non-smoking areas.

We hope this info helps!

An official RCI post! How rare! This account has only posted press releases to entice new bookings in the past from what I have seen. No followup for any concerns related to posts with folks after the initial free advertising post made from this official RCI account. Maybe they have caught on years later to the social media concept and it should not only be used for free advertising. It should also be used to address legitimate concerns as well as to promote it's product. Congrats.....

RCI posts are 120 since 3/19/14. Less than one post every three days. I have not calculated how many of these are just advertising compared to a response to a comment or concern. Seems pretty low based on the volume of posts in this forum.

The reason I feel that it needed to be said is because people in general FAR TOO OFTEN use the excuse of an allergy when in fact they DO NOT actually have one!!

If you do not like something or can not be around it then don't be. But don't use the excuse that you "Have an Allergy" when in fact you simply don't want to be around smoke!

People who have actual Life Threatening Allergies will thank you for correcting your choice of words.

Thank you! I point out the misuse of the term allergy on these threads often. I'm glad to see someone else do it! Your explanation in the above post says exactly what I think.

Except this contradicts the info in the original post that smoking is no longer allowed in the casino on Indy. Just hoping it's still non smoking in September.

It used to be that way, but since smoking was banned on balconies a couple of years ago, the casinos rarely have smoke-free nights.

Last four Princess ships we were on were all 100% non-smoking casinos after 6pm on "Formal/Elegant" nights. SO a few other lines do have this SMART feature as who wants the smoke stench on their formal/nice clothes?

Hopefully they didn't ban smoking in the casino. It's the main reason we don't go there and give them more of our money. :p

Us too. But apparently the ban is in sailings out of the UK only. It was fine on harmony a few weeks ago, but that was out of Spain !!

This is the reason we book rci.

If we can't smoke in the casino, we may as well book other "cheaper" cruises.

You misunderstood their post. lv2bcruzin was making a joke...saying they hope smoking is not banned because that will entice them to go spend more money in the casino.
