Smoking banned in casino on Indy

Recommended Posts

It was indeed ......

How did you find Harmony?

I had my heart procedure the other day. Unfortunately didn't go as planned but was only 25% chance of success, but low risk. The consultant has told me to go on holiday in October though and then get in touch with him to arrange going back again in December / New Year for the riskier procedure which has a much higher chance of success, but a bigger chance of something happening too :(

Least I'm going to be able to go on Holiday though :)

I've just read on a well-known social media site that smoking has been banned in the casino, in all parts.

Ade.

I have just got off the Indy on 2nd of July. There is no smoking in the casino at any time.

Just trying to get back to your original post which has been used by others to re-open the smoking debate.

No more sailing out of Southampton on rci from now on for me. It was the only attraction tbh. Now it's out of the window. I'm going to start checking out celebrity now.

And swoopys health is more important than smoking too. Sorry we went off piste.

No smoking on Celebrity in casino, staterooms or balconies.

I'm glad to say the Celebrity casinos are smoke free.

Shame the smoke free casino thing doesn't apply to the Navigator sailing out of Southampton, how can they stop it on one but not the other?

Navigator for us then ......

Just off the phone with Royal. There is NO SMOKING in the casino or in the Lounges on Anthem!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

The casino on the Anthem has no smoking areas - slot machines and table games. But there are slots and tables where you can smoke.

Exactly.......That's how it was last year. Has it changed already?

I do however symphasize for the few smokers that do enjoy having a cigarette while they are pumping large sums of cash into the slot machines......which I believe is 1 or the 2 areas that cruise ships make their money!

Agree with you, Renee. The non-smoking casinos on Celebrity ships are packed - no business lost there!

Agree! Sailed with X in March for the first time, and their casino didn't appear to be hurting for business. Just as crowded as any RC casino.

The day we boarded and were doing our usual exploration of a new ship, we got the the casino, and it almost seemed strange at first not to smell stale smoke. :) It was great though.

Seeing reports that Empress is not allowing smoking in the casino also. Personally, a positive trend.

I agree.... Every time I complete their post cruise survey I mention that I didn't step foot inside the casino due to the smoking. I also don't like that it's used as an inside smoking area for those that aren't gambling and instead stand in the entranceway smoking. With all the confirmed cancer data regarding secondhand smoke, I'm surprised it's still allowed in a common area.

Is there smoking in the casino on Harmony?

Yes ..... on harmony there is a smoking half and a non smoking half. This is true ....... the smoking side was packed. The only busy place on the non smoking side was the $1 roulette table.

And that's the gods honest truth. roulette tables on the smoking side were $5 min to $25 ..... and they were always busy.

We went to the casino and gambled one afternoon. We went to the casino to smoke every day of the cruise though.

It was the only place you could smoke and order a drink.

Outlaw it everywhere but 2 spots on the ship and guess what, everyone is going to congregate and smoke in those 2 spots. Not hard to figure out. Over 20% of Americans are smokers. That's a lot of business they lose out on if they outlaw it on ships completely.

Imagine if they said "Hispanics and multi-racial people are banned from all ships". That's the same % of Americans as smokers...

But hey, they run a business I'm sure they know more than I do.

Give me a break... really.... nearly all RCCL ships sail full. When RCCL finally bans smoking in locations where others do frequent and you no longer cruise, you will not be missed and your cabin will be taken over...

You can compare smoking to race. Race doesn't cause cancer and other problems with your health... and 20% of the people use more expense for healthcare than those that do not smoke... LOL
