Central Park tour on Allure?

Hi there:

 

I was wondering if anyone knows if the Allure's resident gardener(s) give tours of the plants in Central Park? I'm a big gardener and would be very interested in such a tour. I looked at the daily compasses (Eastern Caribbean) to see if I could find such a tour but couldn't find one (but there is a lot of info there and I might have missed it). Also, if there is a tour, is it free?

Did this a couple of years ago and it was so fun and informative. I think they do it twice during the cruise, so check your daily planner.

In deed they do give FREE tours. The one my wife and I took recently lasted about 60 minutes. VERY informative and you learn a lot about HOW they created and built the park and got the big trees in there and about the animal sounds change depending on the time of day.....all very cool...

It was time well spent. Learned a lot of interesting tidbits about how the design morphed as they learned things. Like that big deflector at the top to keep the wind in the park to a minimum.

Loved this tour. If there is one available in the morning I would recommend that one over an afternoon one. I found it can become quite warm in there in the afternoon at least for me.

Just looked on the compass and there is a central park tour scheduled for 930 tomorrow on day 6. Hope this helps op.

When we were on Allure western itinerary in April, the park tour was on day 2 at 9:30 am and we missed it because we hadn't yet studied the Cruise Compass in full detail. It is easy to miss - just one line buried among a very long list of daytime activities. Unfortunately the tour was not offered again so hopefully next time I will pay better attention to the Compass.
