Red-Sol Posted July 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2016 Hi Folks, With 3 cruises we have booked through CAS out of New York on the Breakaway...there has always been a CAS check-in area at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal along with priority boarding for CAS guests. My question is...is this true in all ports? Is it Norwegian's policy that each port for boarding has a CAS check-in area along with priority boarding? Has anyone seen this in other ports? Thanks! Red-Sol Posted July 10, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted July 10, 2016 Thank you to both of you! :) By any chance does anyone know if there will be a CAS check-in at Port Canaveral? Epic starts sailing out of there in November and was just wondering.
Rare BirdTravels Posted July 10, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2016 To answer the the first OP question, the only port that I have seen CAS priority boarding is NYC. All other ports have had CAS check-in lines, but then you pull a boarding group number with the rest of the passengers Port Canaveral: There was a CAS check-in line this year for the Spirit (who is being replaced by the Epic) However, this year on the Spirit, they boarded passengers by: Back-to-back first; Havens second; Latitudes status: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze; then non-latitude members by boarding group. They encouraged CAS member to check in with their Latitudes group vs. the CAS line (doesn't really matter). Being a platinum member, I liked this boarding order. It seems as if there are differences in boarding depending on Ship and Port. We are booked through CAS but are only Gold as far as Latitudes. Will definitely need to inquire as to boarding method while checking in.. Thanks Again!
Sand and Seas Posted July 10, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 10, 2016 Miami and New Orleans both offer priority lines for CAS. To clarify, Miami and New Orleans have priority check-in lines but I haven't seen priority embarkation for CAS. However since you get through check-in faster that does give you an advantage over others in reaching the area where you are handed an embarkation group number. You didn't say with port. NYC is the only port noted to have CAS Priority Boarding. Several ports have CAS check-in. You would be eligible for both in NYC and just check in at another port. Rare mking8288 Posted July 14, 2016 #14 Share Posted July 14, 2016 I'm cruising from NYC on the Breakaway Unless there's a recent change in NYC, CAS guests/players can arrive & start the check-in as early as 9:30 AM - you don't have to select a specific time, unlike the herd with an arrival time. Just make sure, once you get thru security - to ask for & go to the CAS check-in, it's usually in the back of Pier 88 (into the Hudson) and once done, you will be directed to a roped off waiting area with seating (if early enough) - boarding should follow Haven, special needs & CAS quietly "notified" around 11:00 to 11:15 to proceed, using the AFT gangway. Your should have the "Lucky" Card issued as part of the Welcome Abroad package in the stateroom, along with invite to cocktails for players, etc.
