grand isle joe Posted August 3, 2016 #27 Share Posted August 3, 2016 As a Suite guest, I hope Diamonds can't butt in line. What is wrong with waiting in line. .............but I guess it really depends on what that "butt" looks like......A really nice "butt"? I don't mind at all.......;):D
Stormy15 Posted August 3, 2016 #28 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Regardless...I think it's a bit rude...wait your turn inline just like everyone else. The only time we've gotten advance tender tickets (and that was years ago at a certain port)...I wasn't comfortable waving my "Golden Ticket" and asking everyone to step aside  Did you go with the concierge? We didn't wave anything in front of others. We followed the concierge and she took us to where we were supposed to go. It is an actual benefit of being in a suite so I don't understand why it would be considered rude. We have been in suites sometimes and other rooms at other times. No big deal. rickdent Posted August 4, 2016 #30 Share Posted August 4, 2016 On our cruises in Grand Suites the Concierge called and said he was going to escort the suite guests to the tender area and gave us a choice of times to meet in the CL. Once everyone was assembled he escorted us down to the front of the line. And yes, there were lots of nasty remarks made by fellow passengers. If you want suite perks, then buy a suite. It is rude to heckle the suite guests for something to which they are entitled. So glad they didn't see us on embarkation mornings leaving Chops after a nice breakfast, having the Concierge commandeer an elevator, and taking us to the head of the line to get off the ship! This has been my experience, as a group accompanied by Concierge. Perhaps a few fellow passenger comments.... On Celebrity, concierge escorted the suite group to a different tender boarding location. I thought you were referring to the golden ticket as the gold card you get for being in a suite. Durkman Posted August 4, 2016 #32 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Well, this got interesting in a hurry.... SO predictable though. I clicked on this thread just to confirm my assumption that it would be riddled with socialistic comments that everyone should be treated equally... cruisegirl1 Posted August 4, 2016 #34 Share Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) Perhaps there is a difference in ports/itineraries, but recently we had a scheduled late arrival in Grand Cayman (12 noon ) and they REQUIRED every party (family/group) to have a tender ticket. I can't answer for suite and Pinnacles, but D+ had NO priority perk. We had to wait in line to get the tender ticket and then wait an hour after arrival until they called our number. When waiting to return to the ship the Concierge recognized us and offered to take us to the front of the line to get the tender. All other times to Grand Cayman, there were no tender tickets and no D+ priority tendering to the island. Usually the Concierge Lounge concierge will recognize you and offer a priority return. (Same cruise) There was NO D+ priority tender for Coco Cay. We did have D+ priority tendering in Greece ( last year) on Serenade. We gathered in the Concierge lounge and the concierge took us down. By the way, if the cruise line offers a perk to a C&A level or a particular cabin accommodation, why should folks be ashamed to use it? And, why should others be angry if the passenger is using a perk for loyalty or high dollar accommodations? Goodtime Cruizin Posted August 4, 2016 #35 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Just checked the photo I had of them, and they list as being for Diamond and up! This little blue pass will need to be accompanied with a Concierge or someone will get a mouthful of angry Good Morning if they push through & past my wife. This can be counted on as sure as the tender itself. I fully understand and respect a Suite perk, but one's past history of cruising means little on the current cruise when it comes to something like this. It's just plain rude to expect others to part their ways because of one's tenure of cruising w/ RCL. Flame away if you wish.
aviator1945 Posted August 4, 2016 #36 Share Posted August 4, 2016 On Vision last year we met in the concierge lounge and were taken down and put on the first tender along with the early excursion people when we were at Grand Cayman. It is not a D perk, but it is for those eligible for the CL (D+, Pinnacle and Suite guests). I don't know if it's available at every tender port. This is very similar to the procedure on our Navigator cruise last year, where DW and friends met the concierge in the Diamond Lounge and were escorted to an early tender. NETSEG Posted August 4, 2016 #37 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Currently on Brilliance. We got a call from the Diamond Lounge hostess advising us that Diamond members not on tours could pick up Group 1 or 2 tender tickets from her in the morning before our arrival in Kotor. We got a call from the Diamond Lounge hostess advising us that Diamond members not on tours could pick up Group 1 or 2 tender tickets from her in the morning before our arrival in Kotor. We had the same on Brilliance in June and we could also collect tickets from the Diamond Concierge on Radiance in March, so it is possible on some ships.
