tatrtot45 Posted August 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2016 We're taking our honeymoon on Freedom in September. We originally had an inside room but I had seen the price for an outside room was the same price we paid for the inside. Only thing was it was a guarantee outside ( so they picked the location) we went from deck 8 to deck 2. Are outside rooms on deck 2 good? We've always been on higher decks so now I'm worried lol. Clarea Posted August 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2016 We've been on deck 2 before and had no issues. It was quiet, less motion, and easier to get off and on the ship at ports.
LiveToCruise99 Posted August 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2016 I liked the ocean view cabins on level 2. We often saw dolphins because we were close to the water. I think you made a super switch.

Yes, we call those cabins "living in the aquarium". :D
absolutonrox Posted August 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 11, 2016 This wasn't on Freedom, but our first cruise was on Grandeur and we had an outside cabin on deck 2. We had no issues with it at all. Enjoy your free window :D
Debitoo Posted August 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 11, 2016 I had an OV on deck 2 of the Legend. It was a GREAT location. Never felt any motion and easy off at the ports. I'd book it again in a heartbeat. Enjoy!
epcopres Posted August 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2016 I think the deck 2 choice would be good as well. Especially getting on and off at ports. The ONLY down fall i would see is that you are 9 decks to the pool and windjammer etc. Sometimes elevator wait time depending on time of day sucks. And climbing 9 flights of steps is rough. JoeRum Posted August 14, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Any room with a view has to be better than an inside room. Enjoy your cruise! JoeRum

Rare Terre Posted August 18, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Any room with a view has to be better than an inside room. Enjoy your cruise! JoeRum I agree with JoeRum. I like insides because I sleep really good -- and late! We once had a cabin steward keep knocking on our door! We finally got up, but it's so dark in an inside that you just want to keep sleeping. Nado44 Posted August 18, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 18, 2016 I agree. Any cabin with a view (regardless of deck) is better than one with no view. But keep an eye out on prices. Depending on the price you paid, you might find that the price for balcony cabins may come down.
Miss America Posted August 18, 2016 #13 Share Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) We just got off Freedom...we had a guaranteed OV on deck 2 all the way aft. I LOVED lying in bed and being *right there* on the water. It was exceptionally quiet except for the last morning. Cel_cruise Posted August 18, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 18, 2016 I think you made a good choice! Also - if there are other rooms available in your new assigned category that you prefer more - you can usually switch.
tatrtot45 Posted August 18, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted August 18, 2016 So I was on Royal and noticed that the balcony price came down. I upgraded us again the other day. For 7 days it was an extra 330 total for us. I think that was a good choice. I think hubby will be surprised and well if he's know I will be happy haha. It's my honeymoon too lmao.
