david5272 Posted October 12, 2016 #101 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Umm and where are you going to tell them it is coming from? I was out there every day and I could not tell you exactly which room or even which deck that the smoke was coming from. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the same person every time either. Unless it's your direct neighbor (and even then I'm not sure you can tell 100%) you're not going to know where it's coming from esp at night. On BA/GA, the bridge extends pretty far out. So if they want to see, they certainly can. Not to mention, all the cameras. Don't think that was too high on their list of concerns though. Pretty sure it would be fairly easy to figure it out. if I could smell it...just look around....and BINGO...spotted..and then call

Hmm we told them once in our room where we thought it was coming from.. and they sought it out from there..Next day we saw officers going/coming from their room .. with a lot of of unhappy passenger faces..LOL.. it was priceless.. will do it again. Edited October 12, 2016 by Kosi It honestly does not matter if you know the room number..they actually said to us ..does not matter..

jimdicap Posted October 12, 2016 #104 Share Posted October 12, 2016 I do hate it when cigarette smoke interfares with my cigar. want to try something fun? Put a cigar in your mouth and DO NOT LIGHT it...watch non smokers cough when they see it and then watch them stutter when you point out it isn't lit. Letsgo 2 Posted October 12, 2016 #109 Share Posted October 12, 2016 I guess we had too much fun to notice the smoke I read all this issues before we boarded the Breakaway Oct 2nd and I must say it had me worried a little. I walked through the casino and played in the casino, and the smoke really wasn't that bad. I never smelt it in any of the Restaurants, I did smell it on some of my clothes after an evening in the Casino. This was my choice to go to the smoking area, so I have to suck it up buttercup We all pay a lot for our cruise and we should all be able to enjoy our cruise smokers and none smokers alike! I think the Breakaway did a good job of that, there is even a somewhat enclosed area on the Pool Deck for smokers, to keep the none smokers happy! I also never smoked any smoke in the Atrium, and you do not have to go through the Casino to get to the other side of the ship! Casino is on Deck 7 you could go on other Decks to get to To other areas. I'm an ex smoker, and you all know we are the worse about being sensitive to smoke, but it really didn't bother me at all on the Breakaway Marion
skeeter195 Posted October 12, 2016 #110 Share Posted October 12, 2016 I have no problem with smokers as long as they stick to the rules. What bothers me is the non-gamblers in the casino. I spend some time in the casino each cruise and the last 2 years or so the smoke cloud has become really bad at times. As soon as I sit down at a table I ask for the No Smoking sign to be brought out. They dealers are always happy as they all say that it has become a real problem. If someone comes around the table smoking they are asked to leave. Now if the tables I play are busy and there smokers at those tables I will either not play or just sit at the other end of the table from them. UpstateCruiser1007 Posted October 12, 2016 #111 Share Posted October 12, 2016 The smoke is one of the reasons we likely won’t cruise on the Breakaway again. The casino location is seriously flawed for those who don’t want to suck in second hand smoke whenever they cross the ship on any of the main levels. We also found the waterfront (which was one of the only spots with somewhat decent, quiet and comfortable seating) to be smoky at times due to being downwind from Maltings and the cigar lounge. Seems like they really catered to the smokers on this ship which sucks for those of us who don’t participate in the filthy habit.

I love the arm wavers the best in the smoking section of the casino, more then once I have threatened to break thier hand and will continue to do so if they choose to sit next to me. PRgymnast Posted October 12, 2016 #113 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Oh you wish we could not be certain.. Be sure that when you complain they have very high level people come by.. they will be sure to get the right people. I am sure all they have to do is smell around.. cause you all stink to high heaven! Why would I wish that? I don't smoke. I'm a stargazer, which is why I'm on my balcony for long periods of time, AT NIGHT. There are literally hundreds of balconies the smell could be coming from. You're NOT seeing smoke. You're smelling it. Unless it's super close to you, you have no idea where it's coming from. Smell around? They're going to knock on doors and visit several balconies? NOT going to happen! That poster you quoted was using "you" in general terms Btw since you brought it up....how do you think a smoker sneaking a smoke on the balcony disposes of the remains? I say.... 1. They are so ignorant and so self centered that the fling them off Or 2. The must carry an empty beer or soda can with them and make sure all the ashes go into it and then they put the butt in it then they take the can and either dispose of it outside of their cabin Or If the can isn't full yet they lock it in their safe so the steward doesn't find it and then use it again Sent from my iPad using Forums
PRgymnast Posted October 13, 2016 #118 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Apologies, if I truly jumped the gun and the reply to the direct quote was not directed solely upon me. In attempting to answer the question, I have no idea. I certainly hope no one is flinging anything off their balcony into the ocean.
