Since the ban on take on water and soda in July. Has anybody tried to bring empty water bottles or other refillable containers as part of their carry on?

I have not found water an issue on the ships so I was thinking about taking the stainless water bottles I use for hiking and simply filling them on ship before getting off in port.

Yes Not an Issue if the bottles were EMPTY !

EMPTY water bottles canisters casks vessels containers etc. should easily

pass muster - nothing times nothing is after all nothing unless you are

dealing with NCL who would like to escalate the ole hidden water trick !

Now as for filling such water bottles at the Buffet filling station beware of

the NCL water police enforcing the sanitary dispensing beverage act - - -

*** NO CONTACT BETWEEN THE WATER BOTTLE AND THE BUFFET DISPENSER ***

Use of a single serving water glass; pitcher or plastic cup to fill your personal

bottle will be required - easier to fill it from your cabin sink faucet - ice it down

and place in your mini-fridge the day/night before. Have you cabin steward

provide you with an ice bucket.

You can take as much water off the ship as you heart desires.

Imagine the fiasco to have to smuggle water on board in this day and age !

Really NCL %$#@*& !

I just got off of the Escape last Sunday and there were boxes of water bottles (with water), and coke cans, and wine and I saw a few empty aluminum bottles, so I don't know. I think it depends on how busy they are, if they have time to hassle you and how knowledgeable the crew is about the rules.

Where was this - at the initial security screening/scanners before getting to the check-in desks or some location getting onto ship?

We brought a Brita filter pitcher with us and filled it from the bathroom faucet. We kept it in the mini fridge in the room. Water tasted great. We used refillable containers to take it with us if needed.

My trusty glass is going with me. A fake Yetti, trust me when I say, this $10 knock off from Wal-Mart works just as well. We tested it.aaa7984f4fb8fd7104b33c3074cc48ae_thumb.jpg9ae4311364aee8dc046997deee87565c_thumb.jpg

The green is for mixed drinks by the pool, ice doesn't melt. 20oz. The pink, 30 oz, is for ice water all day.

I bought Tervis cup handles at Bed Bath and Beyond
