S.S.Oceanlover Posted September 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2016 I was just reading the NCL forum and somebody posted that JR's is a la carte on some of the newer ships? Is this true, and if so what ships? TIA Bill
loudbmw Posted September 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2016 (edited) JR's is a la carte on the Anthem. It's counter service versus a sit down restaurant on the the other ships. On the Anthem, you can buy a combo with fries/onion rings and a soda or order items individually. Edited September 4, 2016 by loudbmw

cruisenfever Posted September 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2016 (edited) Quantum and Ovation too. They do not have a Johnny Rockets on Quantum any longer. When it went over to China they changed it to Kung Fu Panda. I'm not sure about Ovation, but if it's going to China, they might do the same thing. Rare steamboats Posted September 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2016 Ovation never had Johnny Rockets but started out with Kung Fu Panda. Quantum was changed from Johnny Rockets to Kung Fu Panda during the trans voyage to China. So it´s only the Anthem which has Johnny Rockets with à la carte pricing. All other ships in the fleet have the cover charge. steamboats

If I took a cruise on a foreign ship.... say from China, I wouldn't want to eat a Chinese version of American food on it. I'd be more inclined to want to try something new and native to China. I think a Johnny Rockets on a ship to China would do much better than a Johnny Rockets on an American ported ship. Where you can get JRs at just about every mall.
