Check in time

I was on a 4 PM cruise and was planning on arriving at the pier at 11 AM to board early and have lunch in the Windjammer and just relax on the ship. The itinerary has changed so we now depart at 8 PM. Does this now push our arrival time at the pier back some as well? I am Platinum Level if that means/helps anymore.

Good point. OP - did they offer any explanation for the delayed departure?

Did not ask RCCL but my TA said this happens all the time more than you would realize through all cruise lines. He couldn't tell me when actual board time is because of the port shift from MIA to TMP.

As long as ship's arrival time before you board isn't affected you should be ok with your original plans. It is curious about the change in departure time - wonder if there is any change to your itinerary/ order of ports you're going to be visiting. May be worth asking (if you're sailing to an island that is closer by then you won't have to leave as early).

We have departed Tampa on ships that have just returned. The Port Authority was not allowing passenger vehicles into the drop off area until they had determined the area ready to receive them. That included POVs, taxis and airport/hotel shuttles. As I recall they were allowing vehicles in just after 2:00PM and we departed between 6 and 8.

Based on the RCI notification OP should plan accordingly.

Yes the changed the port order as well. This is the first cruise from Tampa for the season for the Rhapsody. Other cruises on this itinerary are not changed. Maybe they put in some padding to make sure if there were any hiccups in Miami when it arrives from the transatlantic cruise. Who knows.
