We decided not to eat breakfast early today, but rather we would go to the Sea Day Brunch closer to lunch time.

So while I started to pack up my things, Patti made her way to the morning session of bingo at the Liquid Lounge…..

Sorry to report that Patti did not have any luck this time.

We went to the Sea Day Brunch a little after 11, and were seated at a table near the back windows…….

Here’s Patti at the Sea Day Brunch……

CS11221.JPG

The service was very poor this morning for some reason. Once seated, we waited forever before someone took our order, and we had to ask several times for the bread basket and coffee.

Patti had the Caesar salad, a cheddar cheese & tomato omelet with turkey bacon on the side……

CS1123.JPG

I started with the flaming tomato soup which was very good. The problem was that I was not given a soup spoon, and no servers were anywhere to be seen to get me one, so I ate it with my teaspoon……

CS1124.JPG

I also had the steak & eggs with a side of corned beef hash. The reason there are no pictures is because we lost interest, and left without ordering dessert.

Patti took this picture of the Sunrise Dining Room during the Sea Day Brunch as we left…..

We both then went to the casino to enter the 2nd slot tournament. Neither one of has would qualify for the final round.

Afterwards, Patti would try her luck at the last session of bingo, while I would head up to the Red Frog Rum Bar for my afternoon dose of Thirsty Frog Red.

About an hour or so later, Patti catches me still at the Red Frog…..

CS1147.JPG

CS11481.JPG

She then notifies me that she had won the coverall jackpot game by herself so she had won $500. Way to go Patti!!!

At 3:15 I was time to go to the VIFP Diamond / Platinum Party in the Limelight Lounge. Because of the high number of Diamonds and Platinums on this cruise they had to schedule two parties. I believe that the second one was at 4:45pm…..

Guitar player Steve GB provided the entertainment…..

When you first get in the party there are guessing games you can enter to win prizes. This lady won for guess the amount of candy in a jar…..

CS1168.JPG

I won a prize for correctly guessing ship names. How could I not know all the ships? Lol. Here is Patti’s shot of all the prize winners…..

Here is the official shot, which again, we were given for free…..

Afterwards, Patti went to finish packing while I played blackjack for a while, winning a little bit, then I went to visit my friendly bartenders at the Red Frog Rum Bar and the SkyBox Sports bar.

Soon it was time for our final dinner of the cruise. Patti and I pose with our room stewardess “Panny”.

Tonight Patti started out with the onion soup and the flatbread…..

CS11841.JPG

CS1186.JPG

I started out with a shrimp cocktail and an order of steamed mussels…..

CS1185.JPG

We both then had the caprese salad followed by our main course, the ricotto ravioli…….

I also had the shrimp creole…..

Our bar waitress Carma finally talked us into having shots. The perfect way to toast another great cruise!!

CS11911.JPG

Here is tonight’s Dessert menu…..

CS1192.JPG

Patti had her usual butter pecan ice cream, while I had the cherry pie a la mode which was not that bad.

The waiters, as they always do on the final night, sang “Leaving on a Fun Ship”, and then danced Gangham Style.

After saying our goodbyes, Patti and I decided to call it a cruise. She went to check emails, while I went back to the cabin to finish my packing and put our suitcases out in the hallway for pick up.

Here is our final turndown of the cruise, along with the free photos from the VIFP party that they had delivered…..

We are just about docked…….

CS12021.JPG

Here is the Debarkation Information……

CS12031.jpg

CS12041.jpg

Here is the Diamond / Platinum Debarkation information……

CS12051.jpg

Since we’re not carrying our bags off ourselves, we have plenty of time to have breakfast. We go back to our usual spot at the Havana Bar, and have our final omelets of the cruise.

We vacated our cabin at 8:30am, and made our way to the Limelight Lounge to wait to be called to debark.

They were ready for us early, so we were off the ship at 9am. Getting a porter, finding our luggage, and going through customs were a breeze. The porter took our bags right to the car and loaded them in for us. We made sure to tip him generously. It was 9:15am as I pulled out of the parking lot, with Patti getting this one last shot of the Carnival Sunshine as we exited…..

CS12061.JPG

Again, being that today was a Saturday there wasn’t any traffic to speak of, so we pulled into our driveway at home at 10:15am, another wonderful cruise completed. THE END.

Coming up next: Our final thoughts and ramblings.

Halifax and Peggy’s Cove

EXCURSION DETAILS

The two most popular ‘must see’ sites; Halifax; Peggy’s Cove and city highlights...

Return to the pier via air-conditioned coach.

NOTE: Stop at Peggy’s Cove is approximately one hour. Warm clothing, a raincoat, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Price = $49.99 Adults, $39.99 Children.

This is the excursion that we are planning to do in a couple of weeeks. May I ask... which side of the bus were you seated to get such great pictures as you pulled into Peggy's Cove? I want that view :D

Also, Thank you for such an extremely informative and picturesque review. I have been reading & trying to absorb as much as possible ... until right now at 4:10am!

I appreciate every sentence & every Picture!

As you walk onto the bus, take a seat on your left. (Facing the front of the bus you will be on the right hand side) This side will get you the views as you pull into Peggy's Cove that Jeff had.

Enjoying this review. One of my bucket list cruises. But like your wife I am married to a teacher. So in possibly 6 years hope to be heading that way.

When do you think the leaves change color up in Canada? Would love to take the cruise with a little bit of color change. Thanks for doing this review.

I live in Halifax right now. The colours started changing last week and right now they are in full force. Keep in mind that it is weather dependant so it can vary from year to year. Early October is usually a solid bet for some pretty colours though for this area. As you travel further north, the changes happen earlier.

We got off the ship at 9am for 9:30 tour. We have arrived in Boston!

CS0552.jpg

At least you wore a Patriots shirt when you visited Boston. Not quite the right Patriots, but close enough!! I cross the large bridge you showed when taking the duck tours every day for work. My building sits right on the Charles River and I watch the duck boats every day go back and forth.

Hi Jeff. I finally have a chance to let you know how much I've enjoyed this wonderful review and all of the great pictures! :) Winning at Bingo is an excellent start to Patti's retirement!

Thanks also for your pictures from your earlier cruises with the family. I know how much you must treasure the ones of your adorable boys.

I noticed on the debarkation handout that it stated that liquor purchases would be delivered to the stateroom the night before. Is Carnival no longer making people pick up their purchased bottles the morning of debarkation?

I hope so. I used to purchase some bottles onboard until they changed the procedure and it was just too much to deal with on the last morning.

Thanks for another great review.

Thank you so much for reading and we are glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful. Caronrick gave you the correct information as to which side of the bus you need to sit for the best views entering Peggy's Cove. The right side! :D

I didn't plan it that way, but it worked out! What a fantastic view you must have. Thanks for reading!:)

Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet on board. The CC Meet & Mingle not happening was a big disappointment.

We'll see you in February on the Pride! :D

I look forward to it! Hard to say who dropped the ball CC or Carnival, but hopefully they will get it straightened out by then. Meanwhile, enjoy your next cruise on the Sunshine with your son! I'll be heading out on the Vista in 31 days. :D
