Shorex Posted November 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2016 It's very simple. No reason to be concerned. Please pay the amount recommended by the cruise line in the recommended way.
cb at sea Posted November 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2016 Cunard's brochure will tell you suggested tip amounts....so just follow the guidelines! How does tipping work? During your cruise, you will receive service from many members of our staff in a variety of locations. For your convenience a gratuity will be added to your shipboard account on a daily basis for each guest (including children). The gratuity will be shared amongst those staff that helped provide and support your cruise experience, including the restaurant staff, stateroom stewards and accommodation staff, buffet stewards and others. Casino personnel and youth staff do not share in the gratuity as not all guests utilise this service. Please note, this is a suggested gratuity and, should you wish to remove it or make any adjustments, you may contact the Purser’s Desk before the end of the cruise. Grill Accommodations: $13.50 USD per person per day† Britannia Accommodations: $11.50 USD per person per day† †Charges may vary or change without notice. What about gratuities in the bars? A 15% gratuity is added to your bar charges and dining room wine account. This is shared amongst the beverage staff and their support staff. So you see...there really is nothing you need to do! They take care of the distribution for you!

GUT2407 Posted November 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2016 If you just leave the auto tips on that's it. Though don't be surprised if there are a few crew you want to tip extra.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 20, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2016 It is already added to the bill. No worries. Keith
kitty9 Posted November 21, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) Hi:)! we are booked on Cunard's Queen Victoria for a cruise from Southampton to Sydney in January. We are concerned about tipping and service charges. Any info gratefully received.Freya and John What are your specific concerns? The daily, per person, gratuity will be added to your on board account. Any beverage purchase will have a 15% gratuity automatically added to the beverage bill. Just a question, but I didn't see a cruise on the Queen Victoria going from Southampton to Sydney this coming January. Are you cruising in 2018? I see a cruise on the Queen Mary 2 cruising from Southampton to Sydney on 10, January 2017. Edited November 21, 2016 by kitty9
