CarnieAddict Posted November 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2016 Hey. Just booked a 12 day February 25th 2018 on Anthem of the Seas. What's everyone's thoughts on this ship and when she leaves home port does it sail past the statue of Liberty? This will be my first RCI cruise. I enjoyed every cruise I have taken with Carnival but thought I would try another cruise line. I hope I won't regret it.

DaniDanielle Posted November 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2016 We enjoyed Anthem. On our cruise in September the captain sailed to the statue and back around to go under the Verrazano Bridge. We have done a 12 day and are booked for another in January. There is plenty to do and the ship is beautiful. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Clarea Posted November 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2016 ... when she leaves home port does it sail past the statue of Liberty? ... Sometimes she does sail past the statue, but not always. No way to predict what the Captain will do, because the it's out of the way, so they may decide not to take the time.
gaylemh Posted November 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2016 I've sailed out of Cape Liberty 16 times on Explorer, Quantum and Anthem. Only once did we sail past the SOL. You can see it in the distance from the ship though.

allunix Posted November 24, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2016 I can see the statue and the ship docked from my condo. Seems like last year it would backtrack to see the statue but haven't noticed that in a long time now.

kkfw1994 Posted November 25, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 25, 2016 Watching the Webcam the only times I saw Anthem turn North to the statue was for the pre inaugural and the Canadian cruises. These cruises left on a weekday when there was no traffic coming down from Manhattan and they were not in a rush to get to the next port (day and a half to get to Boston)
