15 Drink Limit

I think there are some people who can hit 15 a day most days, but I suspect many who hit 15 either: do it only once, don't finish their drinks, share drinks, or some combination. How many threads have the comment of a plus for Cheers is ordering new things just to see if you like it (then getting something else 5 min later because they didn't) or not finishing watered down drinks? Even excluding sharing, a person could easily only "consume" 6 or 7 drinks if they are trying everything on the menu or discarding as soon as it starts to melt.

I also don't think most people that do hit 15 hit it every day.

It's harder on port days but, I give it the good ol' college try!

I can't imagine ever in a million years being able to consume 15 alcoholic beverages in a day so the limit would never affect me. Just the amount of calories in 15 drinks makes me want to cringe. How in the world can people maintain a healthy weight (not to mention liver) drinking like that?? Lol. I would personally rather eat my calories versus drink them, but to each their own. : )

All of these self-righteous, can't-believe-anyone-could-drink-that-much-I-never-could-blah-blah-blah people, are the same people who eat a full breakfast on Lido/MDR, lunch at Guy's/Blue Iguana, and a several course meal in the MDR at 8:15 at night. I could never eat that much in one day, but ya know what? To each their own, so who cares. We regularly hit 15, and we're not obese, unhealthy, or anything else.

After reading this, it sounds like Carnival is a party boat? If you have such a rule, then it was created because of a widespread problem. Let's keep bragging how many drinks you can have! Makes Carnival look good!

That's why it's called the fun ship.we don't drink at all.we could care less what the limit is but 15 is more than enough.

Oh now...don't be silly . Don't you know that everyone on cruise critic maintains a healthy diet and excercise plan, over tips, leaves a spotless stateroom, always takes the stairs AND never gets drunk? Oh and their children are perfectly behaved. ;)

I know for myself (and suspect for most) I eat and drink more on a cruise vacation than at home. It's possible to maintain a healthy weight (and maybe even liver) if you over indulge once a year or two.

If you cruise every month or every other month, that might be a different matter;p

No. They lock your card (for alcohol) until the next morning.

They will however notify you before you hit 15 and as long as you tell them you then want to buy drinks (before your card gets locked with 15) you can continue to buy drinks. Once your card is locked (15th free drink) it cannot be unlocked for purchasing additional drinks.

It's interesting that the people who say.. how can drink 15 drinks in a day and you shouldn't drink that many anyway because you would be so drunk. If you get up at 9:00 am... maybe have a bloody mary or mimosa... then drinks through out the day and go to bed at 12:00 midnight.. that is 15 hours... 15 drinks... 1 drink per hour? So that limit of 15 doesn't mean everyone is drinking 15 drinks in a short amount of time.

I read on another thread that, no, you are locked out from alcohol. They are probably assuming you’ve had enough.

Cheers and DOU (drink on us thru the casino) will include the 15 drink limit. If you have neither then no limit except for bartenders that feel you are unsafe (for you or others). Once a bartender cuts you off you cannot get a drink anywhere til 6am the next day.... well there is one way, both for being "drunk" or the 15 drink limit.

BUY a couple of bottles thru Carnival on the website. I usually get one bottle of rum and one of vodka, about $180 with mixers included. They are quart bottles ( I think, not sure what we got last time) or 1000 ml bottles. You can make you a drink (or 2) in the cabin.

We usually do this, have our DOU card and either never hit 15 or make a trip to the cabin if somehow we do.

Oh and tips at the bar DO help!
