I had to make my own dinner this evening.

BILL

Bill/Rosie,

You two were my most favored peeps on board (not dissin the others though cause everyone I met was good peeps :D)

Keep in tough and hopefully we'll meet up again in the World Class Bar before they change it to something else! lol

I make dinner all the time (except when cruisin) so no sympathy from me. :p

Happy Sails to you, Until we meet again. (to steal an old Roy Rogers & Dale Evans song)

Hi Steve

Sorry about your TA.

At least its only $150 but still an expensive lesson.

What are the addresses of the St. Maartin G location 2 Front Street and

St. Maartin F location 3 Front Street liquor stores?

(or are 2 and 3 Front Street their addresses?)

My husband usually buys Glenlivet or GlenFidditch Scotchs. Do you think the price comparisons would be similar?

We were on the cruise with you and booked with the same agency. All of our OBC was issued as OBN even though we should have had $200 OBR, but very strangely we had $150 MORE than we expected. My mom and our friend had theirs coded as as OBR the total added up to what they expected but it was in rather odd pieces.

We ended up buying a couple of expensive bottles of scotch to use it all up.

Just FYI, after reading about Steve getting "con"Ed, I called asked TA and asked about my OBC I gave on the Mardi Gras cruise (I have a TON), and was told that $275 of the $300 they are giving me is refundable - the Celebrity OBC is not; however, Celebrity reserves the right to make a change. So hopefully it was Celebrity and not the TA that did the "con"-ing.

Do you think it would have been possible to make an 8:45am flight

Southwest, no checked bags? From Fort Lauderdale self disembark?

I highly doubt it. Besides relying on when they begin disembarkation, it depends upon how far back in the line you are. There were a large amount of self disembarkation participants. They began forming at 6:30 (an hour before scheduled disembarking. Then you have to rely on Customs having enough agents on time and no delays in front of you. Then grab a taxi. The airport is 15 minutes away with not much traffic but you'll be in rush hour. Then of course there's the airport security line and getting to your gate.

Brings back memories of OJ running through the airport in an old Hertz commercial.

What? Too soon?

The Equinox docked at 7:00 and debarkation did not start until about 7:25. I would not try to make an 8:45 flight. However, there are other ships that dock at 6:00AM and those would be doable, but I would not do it...too much stress for me! My earliest flight is 10:00AM....:):)

Hmmm Southwest will allow us to go on the next flight if this one is missed, however it's at 5pm and we wouldn't arrive home until midnight versus getting home at 2 pm

Two choices, go early and stress, or get a day room at a hotel and enjoy an extra day of activation. :):)

Hiya Susan & Jimmy,

Yes Gopher did a great job on the roulette "pull". I was just his helper. That was much better than the slot pull because they can put you on a tight slot but they can't alter the wheel. I made more money back than any slot pull previously. I wish more roll calls would do it.

This had been a great cruise. I'm happy to share. I'm very impressed with this ship and crew. TYVM for your post.

Please share. Our last slot pull was a complete bust.

OK I decided to post it here so that maybe it will take over for the Slot Pull. I must credit Gopher1934 with introducing the concept on our cruise in February this year. I was not going to participate in a slot pull on that cruise because Celebrity has drastically tightened the slot pay outs. Plus the Casino Manager can place you on an even tighter machine and you have no control. You can't alter the roulette wheel so your odds of winning, IMHO increase.

This is what Gopher (Lonnie) sent me regarding the roulette pull:

Gather in the Casino pay the $15.00 at that time. Then buy our chips

as a group. then in turn place the bets.

I would have it set up ahead of time with the casino host. And normally get

prizes from them to raffle off. ( possibly drink tickets shirts or whatever

I can get them to contribute).

Roulette possibilities Payout on a straight number is 35 to 1

Total entry fee $15.00 x 30 people or however many we have play =$450.00

return would be

30 spins 5 numbers each time = 150 Numbers picked

0 numbers hit you lose everything

5 numbers hit return $525.00 By 30 = $17.50 each

10 numbers hit return $1050.00 by 30 = $35.00 each

15 numbers hit return $1,575.00 by 30 = $52.50 each

And so on could be a lot of fun something different for most of us

On a roulette table they can make a chip equal any dollar amount you choose

so in that case we would make each chip equal $3.

Each person would have 5 chips to pick numbers they want to use

5 different numbers or all on one number if they choose

all on one number would pay back $525.00 if that number hit.Steve I only allow straight up numbers rather than all the other betting options. That would just confuse the whole game.

Also what I like to do is give an equal share of the payout to the dealer that way he or she gets something and they are rooting for you all

to win. so if 30 people sign up and pay just make the payout 31 shares.

From my recollection, it helps if two people work the pull. One takes the money at the table while the other records the transaction in order of deposit. Then the person who took the money hands out the stack of chips as the "recorder" calls out each person in order of deposit.

Using the same list, each player is called one at a time in turn to place their five chips for the spin. One spin per person. The winning chips are accumulated in a side stack for cashing in at the end of the last spin. Don't forget to check off each player as they play.

Once the pull leader converts the winnings into small bills, the record keeper calls out the players in turn to obtain their winnings and checks off their name that they were paid.

Now don't forget the casino donated items. You can either do that before or after the cash split. Get numbered tickets from the casino host. One half goes to each player, the other half goes into a bucket for drawing. Keep drawing until all donated items are gone. If someone leaves before the drawing, they forfeit the item unless they handed their ticket stub to someone who is present to win. You can also give an extra raffle ticket to each person who hits a winning number if you like.

I hope we explained that so it is easy to understand. Now lets try to make this the new trend to replace slot pulls. Spread the word.

Thanks for explaining, just two questions to clarify

1. You set the value of the chips, in your case it was $3 each. Casino goes along with this?

2. When the betting (placing of the chips) start each player goes one by one and places their chips on the table. Dealer spins pays out and then so on?

How easy is it to get the casino to donate items? Ok three questions.

Going to be participating in my first Poker Run next year during our British Isle cruise. Sounds like fun, drinking and cards!! :D

1. yes as long as you work it out ahead of time with the Casino manager. I believe they have generic chips. I don't remember because I wasn't the organizer, just Gopher's helper. The dealer doesn't care about the value of chips since he's giving you the winning number of chips. It's the cashier and casino boss who care about the chip's value. They'll have given you the number of chips based upon the value assigned each chip and the cash you relinquished.

2.One player places their five chips on individual numbers only. They can put any amount of chips (up to five) on any combination of numbers. But you can't bet corners, rows, odd/even, red/black etc. The dealer spins. Then when your winnings are swept into the winning pile or the table is cleared of losing chips, the next person places their bets and so on until everyone has had their turn. The winning chip which is left behind can be bet on the same number or moved by the person who's chip it is. It is bet with the next person's five chips.

3. That's dependent on how generous the casino manager wants to be and how good you are at negotiating for more giveaways. It's usually the same give away types as you get at trivia. He could also throw in a couple of $5 match play coupons, lanyards, T-shirts, hats whatever they have. The more players you have signed up, the more leverage you have for additional items.

Does this help?

Hey Lonnie, if I'm mistaken or you can add anything of additional value, please feel free to jump in.

I forgot to mention it but there was a group of about a dozen "bikers" who brought their motorcycles on board as part of a tour company. I heard they paid an additional $500 fee to Celebrity to do so. Then their bikes were off loaded at each port where they went on touring rides led by the organizing company.

Hey Bill, you said you had pictures of them. Would you mind posting some of the pics?

Just FYI there was about a 20 minute hold on disembarkation at around 9 o'clock. We were in group 24 and didn't get off until 9:45. The customs line was way over an hour by that point.
