Lily2006 Posted January 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2017 Hi We are going on Brilliance of the seas in March. Any thoughts from anyone who have sailed? Any secrets? We just got off the Anthem in October and understand this is a small ship. What are your favorite things? Must experience? How is the concierge lounge, and diamond lounge? Do they have a nice show? Any compasses? thank you
njkruzer Posted January 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2017 We always visit the pool tables, outside Safari lounge, deck 6. The bartender has the balls and you get them by giving him your SeaPass card. Push the button to start the gyro so the table stays even as the ship moves! Always strange for the balls to remain stable while the ship moves! Always fun
MCWescott Posted January 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2017 We were on the BOS last April from Tampa to Barcelona...loved it! Never felt crowded, crew members were fantastic, lots of quiet places to 'hang out' (we're not pool or casino people.) We're on BOS in 3 weeks for a 5 day western Caribbean cruise out of Tampa and again in Nov. for another 14 night transatlantic from Barcelona to Tampa! cb at sea Posted January 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2017 Brilliance is in NO WAY a "small" ship! She's freaking huge! Yes,...there are larger ships, but they are GIGANTIC.....Brillance is HUGE.
breeze123 Posted January 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2017 Definitely not a small ship. We've had awesome staff encounters on Brilliance. CL is interior with no windows. Small but adequate. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Driftwoodgal Posted January 8, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2017 Radiance class/ Brilliance is my favorite class of ships. Viking Crown lounge and Schooner Bar have wonderful views. Solarium area wonderful quiet place to read and get away from pool bands if you like to read. Windjammer is one of the best in the fleet. Rare island lady Posted January 8, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 8, 2017 (edited) Also a Radiance class lover! :) Our favorite class of ships, all four sisters. Not too big, not too small, just perfect. Still has true "class" and elegance with lots of windows for viewing. Easy to get around. Love the outdoor seating behind the WJ and the true full view in the Viking Crown Lounge. Nice having the DL and CL up there on the same deck. Like the CL for the half moon bar. Both have a nice view, and if the DL gets too crowded, they open the side door for overflow into the VCL. We were on Radiance last August, and have all three sisters booked also. Clarea Posted March 5, 2017 #16 Share Posted March 5, 2017 ... Do the pool table gyros work now? We went last year, can't remember when and both tables didn't work. They did not work as of this past January. In fact, there were signs there that indicated (at least to me) that this was a permanent condition. I can't remember when I went on Brilliance last (it's in my sig but can't see on mobile) but it didn't work then and it seemed like nothing was going to be done to fix it. Clarea Posted March 5, 2017 #21 Share Posted March 5, 2017 I have one other question...........Is there an electrical outlet in the bathroom? There is usually a combo US/Euro outlet for shavers only in the bathroom. Look up around the light fixture.
theOSU1 Posted March 5, 2017 #22 Share Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) All 4 Radiance sister ships (built around 2000) are some of the best ships in the fleet. Love the covered/A/C conditioned solarium and the two gyro enabled pool tables, just aft of the Schooner Bar ($92K each when new). Nice aft deck aft to eat outside just aft of the Windjammer and best of best fitness/spa areas. Also, this class ship is powered by clean gas turbines----so very little soot and no aft vibrations . Handles the seas very well for a mid-sized ship- which can fit under the Skyway Bridge to dock in Tampa, FL....(Radiance has the best art onboard of the 4 sisters ships---in my opinion) Happy cruising...Brett:D I will be on the Brilliance in June---can't wait.
