Cras108er Posted January 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Okay, for those of you have had a suite before, was it worth it? We've done an Oceanview before, and we've done a balcony. I think she are partial to a balcony. Thinking about whether it makes sense to do a suite (probably on Princess or Carnival). What are other Cruisers thoughts of a mini (or full) suite? Was it worth the extra money? All opinions wanted. Thx!
SPacificbound Posted January 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Our first three cruises were in suites. We really enjoyed the extra space, but decided it really wasn't a necessity, a balcony cabin is fine. It is just the two of us. If there were more then two of us, a balcony cabin would not be sufficient for us. JMHO
Ashland Posted January 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2017 For us the junior suites/mini suites are "sweet" enough and usually priced better than a full suite.
GUT2407 Posted January 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2017 For us it's a balcony, just can't justify the cost of a suite. (well special occassionsmaybe) A mini or Jnr suite doesn't come with any of the perks so can't justify that either.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Suites and penthouses for us. We love the extra room and larger verandahs.
msmayor Posted January 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2017 For budget reasons, we were always 'inside' people until we got a wonderful upsell to a balcony...spoiled for sure. We booked a balcony again and I now really want that space on every cruise. For our upcoming Zuiderdam cruise, we got such a great price on a suite (casino rate...plus the Explore 4 package) that it was too good to pass up. I'm sure we will love the extra space, but perhaps what we'll really love is the regular table and chairs on the balcony (instead of just a small side table). I'm fairly certain a balcony will suffice for us going forward...but if the price is right I won't hesitate to take the extra space.
Husky61 Posted January 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Full suites for us, and it is well worth the money for us. Would never sail in an inside cabin. Love the suite life.:):)
iancal Posted January 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Be careful. We had a so called suite on HAL. It really was not a suite. Just a slightly larger verandah cabin. Suites on cruise lines can mean anything from a slightly larger cabin to one might expect in a hotel. We did have a mini suite on Princess. It was very nice. More room, much larger bathroom area. We would not book it again unless the price was right. We are just fine with a regular balcony. Before you book...go the the cruise line website and find to determine how much extra real estate you are really getting and how much of it is extra balcony vs extra in room space.
