jscott792 Posted February 5, 2018 #3227 Share Posted February 5, 2018 I think on the busier sailings you don’t hear until last minute. Just a guess! Sent from my iPad using Forumsd Maybe you’re right, I didn’t think about that. I just hope I have the self control to not keep raising my bid in the meantime! :) Jenn Myrtle Beach[emoji267]
Sccrkeepr Posted February 5, 2018 #3228 Share Posted February 5, 2018 I actually go the other way. I think we are helping people to make good purchasing decisions when we share the amounts of winning bids. With the additional information, folks can determine if they should book the desired cabin or select a lower one and potentially move through a bid. With the known cost savings of a winning bid amount, it enables better upfront bookings. THIS!(y)
Orcrone Posted February 6, 2018 #3229 Share Posted February 6, 2018 I am cruising on the Epic a week from Saturday. We just booked an inside guaranty cabin last week through the casinos at sea program. (I guess I spent a little too much time in the casino on my last cruise.) They gave me the opportunity to upgrade so I put in bids for both a balcony and mini-suite upgrade. I just looked and my guaranty cabin has changed to a specific cabin. That makes me think that I won't get an upgrade. However, they are still giving me the opportunity to leave my bid as is or modify it. Should I read anything into getting a cabin assignment? babygirl722 Posted February 6, 2018 #3232 Share Posted February 6, 2018 We just got our upgrade email for the 2/13 Gem sailing. Went from BA balcony to SE suite for $630/pp. We saved close to $4000! Does anyone know if suite guests are entitled to eat breakfast & lunch at Cagney’s? Sent from my iPad using Forums

tel1024 Posted February 6, 2018 #3234 Share Posted February 6, 2018 We had a sail away balcony which I later found out was an enclosed balcony and were pretty bummed. I bid the lowest on everything (maybe a little over the lowest if it was $300 or lower)... we ended up with a spa mini suite balcony which was totally worth it!! I think the bid was around 350... and that’s less than the thermal suite would have been I think which we used everyday. I do think it makes more sense to book the rooms with the perks tho cuz we wish we had ultimate beverage or something and you don’t get those with sail away or with upgrades Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Orcrone Posted February 7, 2018 #3238 Share Posted February 7, 2018 Anyone else get offers for EPIC 2/17/18 sailing? I booked through the Casino at Sea program last week. The only cabin availabile was an inside guaranty. But very shortly thereafter we received the option of bidding for an upgrade to a balcony or mini-suite. Keeping my fingers crossed. PapaZane Posted February 7, 2018 #3239 Share Posted February 7, 2018 52 days out to sail on the Epic. First cruise for me, second for my wife. Booked an inside cabin. Was upgraded to a balcony yesterday at $130/pp. Pretty certain I overbid, but I wanted the option of the balcony to relax on.

Pretty sure we both overbid, but it's hard to hit the sweet spot of bidding just enough and not a dollar more to get the room you want. kyrisong1 Posted February 8, 2018 #3244 Share Posted February 8, 2018 Is it correct if you bid and change to a Haven cabin/suite you lose your current perks and don't receive the perks that typically come with a Haven cabin (which is everything that is offered), or any for that matter? We're in a balcony on a future cruise, and are getting UBP and free daily service charge. IF we receive the invitation, and IF it was accepted, does that mean we would no longer get UBP and need to pay the daily service charge (at the higher Haven rate)? ... even though a person booking a Haven cabin/suite on the website would get every perk offered on that day ( no matter how close to sailing). Would REALLY like to hear from one of you who have sailed in a Haven cabin/suite after changing through the bid process, if possible, rather than just a reference to the fine print. We all know what happens in real life on ship can be different that what "it" (whatever "it"is) says. That is INCORRECT, you keep your perks, but they do not give out additiional perks that might be offered at the time you're upgraded
