Curious... for the ones that DONT get cheers, how much is your bills on the last day?

non alcohol and alcohol

On my first 8 day Carnival it would have been $420 had I bought Cheers but instead my bill for alcohol was $575. Never did that again. I pretty much only drink Coor's Light with an occasional Bloody Mary and wine.

I don't drink soda or specialty coffees so non-alcoholic was $0

I usually end up with the DOU card in the casino around day 2 but still find Cheers is worth it.

2 Bloody Mary's or Mimosa or Screwdrivers or Coffee with Bailey's for b/fast.

3 or 4 drinks during the day sea days maybe 2 on port days when you get back

1 or 2 pre-dinner same for dinner

My pre-dinner is Martini's ($18.00 for 2)

2 or 3 after dinner at shows or just walking around

That's 7-9 alcohol related drinks

Through in specialty coffee's, waters, milkshakes and you have paid for Cheers.

Those numbers are over the course of 12-14 hours

I will definitely try Aclemy Bar and higher priced drinks.

That's about our speed too. With the changes they have made it was a no-brainer for us (we have purchased before). I like not having a bill at the end of the cruise and trying different things. We are not doing too many port activities on our upcoming Vista cruise so we will be taking advantage of all aspects of the drink package!

When we didn't get Cheers..I honestly don't remember how much our bar bill was. It was close to what Cheers cost. I admit that getting Cheers does make us to drink more. (But we are ok with that. ;))

We used to always get the bottomless bubbles for my husband. But now we get it for our oldest..so that evens out.

You don't want to know how much we spend on other things. :o Let's just say we take full advantage of being on vacation and enjoying the moment.

However, if there was something smaller for the casual drinker, even with minimal savings, it would slow down, not prevent, the abuse of sharing the package.

None of the current US based mass market lines have something that you're looking for. However, MSC does have a 18 drink voucher pack for 90 bucks that can even be shared. At 5 bucks per drink, it would satisfy what you wish. At the end of the year, their brand new Seaside debuts in Miami and will be doing year round sailings. It's their first built for Caribbean sailings ship. Check out their section on CC for more information.

Good info, thanks! Another alternative if you want to have some drinks but not pay $50 pp pd for it is Celebrity and Norweigan offer a free drinks package with your booking on almost all sailings now (free being a relative term, NCL charges a service charge of $14 pp pd for this); Believe Pricess and HAL also offer those promos from time to time.

My thoughts exactly. On our 2018 and 2019 Horizon sailings, we will be concentrating on enjoying our time in the Havana area and using the Cheers card at the Havana Bar and Coffee shop during the day and at the Alchemy Bar at night.

And just in case anyone wants to eventually try MSC they are doing a loyalty level match even if you have never sailed with them before. They matched our Carnival platinum status.

We were on the Breeze last week. We are a family of four with 13 and 11 year old daughters.

Our liquor bill for the week was $17.82

Our non-liquor drink bill was $12.88

Didn't spend any money in the casino or game room either.

My wife and I joke that we should thank all the other cruisers that spend money on board and keep the cruise prices reasonable for the rest of us.

That's impressive.

Personally, I could easily get through the week having had only one drink but my wife - not a chance. She's travelling with me after all.

But if not drinking any booze I would be getting through gallons of water, juice, mocktails and smoothies.

What *did* you drink all week?

Lemonade, hot chocolate, ship water and milk. (probably in that order Lol) None of us drink coffee either.

As you can tell we are not huge drinkers. My wife and I have been on 11 cruises and I think the highest alcohol bill we have ever had combined is about $300

I should mention that we did have one excursion that was all-inclusive and we DID make very good use of that!

Did u have just one paid drink each for the week? Total of 2 paid drinks? My 14 and 8 year old is coming with us and I don't want to keep telling them no to drinks when they see it... I know their gonna want soda etc. I can do without soda, personally.

Us adults each had a drink on the first sea day and then we used our free drink coupons on the last day for one more drink each.

The daughters each had smoothies the first sea day. The oldest daughter does not like soft drinks, she pretty much only drinks water and milk. The younger daughter loves soft drinks but really likes the lemonade so she is fine with that plus also likes milk a lot.

We all really like the lemonade. Each machine mixes it a little different so there is some difference there. The hot chocolate is REALLY good. Very "chocolatey" and the perfect temperature to drink right away without burning your mouth.

I ordered BB for the 3 kids but hadn't noticed it doesn't include shakes. Two of the kids don't like carbonated drinks but do like milk and juice and love shakes. The other likes lemonade.

It's a real disappointment that BB doesn't include shakes. Why? They don't cost any more than juice.

This is why I think they should have more options. Why not have a premium non alcohol package?

How did you get coupons and can someone explain the carnival cash that can be purchased?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

The free drink coupons I mentioned we received for being Gold level with Carnival. You get them on the first day of the cruise but can only be used after 5 PM on the last day if the cruise.

Sorry can't help with the Carnival cash.
