bigred08046 Posted July 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 28, 2017 It's almost impossible to get any credit for being a stockholder anymore. Today I was denied any credit because there was a "promo" credit attached to reservation. Promo has NOTHING to do with being a stockholder!!! I'm mad as hell!! Who is with me? Class action lawsuit anyone??

RCCL Shareholder Benefit Frequently Asked Questions http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=103045&p=irol-shareholderbenefit The terms & conditions on that linked page tell you that the shareholder's OBC is not combinable with any other benefit. They are not required to offer any OBC at all. What would be the basis of your lawsuit?
seacruise9 Posted July 28, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2017 Hi, I always submit a request for the shipboard credit, but I am usually denied the credit. However, they recently approved the $100 shipboard credit for my upcoming cruise on the Independence of the Seas. It is not easy to get the credit, but it occasionally works out. VTSKIandCRUISEGUY Posted July 28, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 28, 2017 I'd say I get the credit 2 out of every 3 cruises. Sometimes when given options, I choose a non-special rate knowing that with the OBC it will be cheaper.
LisaAtlCruiser Posted July 28, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2017 I have gotten the credit on my Celebrity cruise. I also get it about 50% of the time on my RCL cruises. Great benefit in my mind - but that is because I didn't buy the stock in order to get the OBC. I bought the stock because I wanted to invest in RCL - the shareholder benefit to me is just icing on the cake.
kevinyork Posted July 28, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 28, 2017 Got it for our June Celebrity cruise booked in the UK ( but then the terms of that promo said it was combinable with the free drink promo) plus our Sep Royal cruise ( although the terms said not combinable with any other offer). It's a lottery. The cost of shares has risen 3 fold in the last few years. They should reduce the eligibility quantity of shares to reflect that. To deny shareholder credit because there is a promo offered puts shareholders on the same level as any customer. In general, book an inside cabin at the cheapest rate with no promos and get the benefit. Pay 10 times that cost for a suite with perks and don't get the benefit. Really? PigsCanFly Posted November 27, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 27, 2017 We have had siiular benefits from our stock holding with our RCCL stock. But all of our RCCL cruises have been casino comped, so that has been their reasoning. We did room upgrades but us paying more did not alter the rules re: the stock holder benefit. Carnival and Holland America discounted cruises we have took had the same benefit issues for us. Fortunately both stocks were bought at a lower price than their current prices, so we are happy with the stocks for that..
Parrothead234 Posted November 27, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I'm ticked about it, too. Haven't had problems with Carnival/Holland America when their cruises were on sale, and they offered their own OBC in addition to shareholder OBC. RCL seems to always have "sales" where the price never changes or goes up.
