HI Friends...is there enough time to experience the most exciting parts of Kennedy space center like the launch experience and imax movie if the ship docks in port canaveral at 1pm and leaves at 9pm....i read somewhere that booking this excursion through ncl may give you additional time beyond closing time...

I would love to get some input from those who have booked this excursion before....

also any names of local tours or shuttle services from the port to KSC would be appreciated...thanks in advance

I have done this shore excursion with NCL and RCCL post-cruise from thee ship to the airport. There is no enough time in my opinion to see much at the space cen. Hopefully, pre-crise will be better.

You might not be able to do everything you wanted but yes, there is enough time. You will get an extra hour after closing for the IMAX movie exclusively for NCL. We've done it twice. Once with an early arrival and once with the 1 PM arrival. It's worth it!

I think you will l end up wishing you had more time. We went on our own a few years ago. Got there before lunch time. I only went because my husband really wanted to go and by the end I wished we had gotten there earlier. I am on a cruise in October that stops there and decided not to go since I don't think it is enough time.

The NCL shore excursion is a fully escorted tour. You are picked up at the ship. Your guide gets you in and gives you a tour of the rocket garden. You are escorted to the Atlantis exhibit (which is spectacular) and given time to get a good look at the orbiter or a quick look and take the launch simulator ride. You are then escorted onto a private bus for the complex tour (going to places not on the public tour), to the Saturn V hall (which you may get to go in a side door and avoid the entry movie), then back to the main complex and on a bus back to the ship.

We did not do the NCL tour, but from the above description, I'd say it's totally worth doing, especially if you have time constraints. KSC is simply awesome.
