Tiffany_Zerbe Posted March 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2017 Hello, will be cruising on June 25th on Carnival, is the air conditioning too cold in the MDR?? Would I need a sweater during dinner or is it comfortable??
SadieN Posted March 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2017 Are you usually cold?Depends on where you sit. I'm usually not cold but ended up sitting under an air vent on the Imagination.
bakersdozen12 Posted March 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 21, 2017 I always freeze in the MDR. I have made a mental note to bring a coverup with me from now on. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

bury me at sea Posted March 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2017 I always needed a sweater or another outer layer in the dining room. However neither my grown children nor my grandchildren felt it was too cool. If you tend to get chilly before others do, take something with you the first night and then you'll be prepared either way.
teknoge3k Posted March 21, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2017 Everyone is different. Some people like their house setting on 65 degrees in the winter, I personally like mine on 75. In the summer some people like their house to be 75, I like mine to be 65. I see people wearing a sweater/jacket out in public while I wear shorts/t-shirt. Personally I've never been cold in the MDR (or on the ship for that matter) but some do.
Florings Posted March 21, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2017 Freezing!! I always take a wrap of some sort into the MDR and actually most of the public spaces on the ships. It doesn't hurt to take something with you in case you get cold - better safe than frozen!
meatloafsfan Posted March 21, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 21, 2017 My mother always carries her shawl (on any cruise line) due to the temperature of the indoor air conditioning. Me OTOH, could probably wear tank tops and short shorts and still be okay (but frankly - ain't nobody wants to see that )
Schoifmom Posted March 21, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2017 I live in a colder weather climate and then after spending all day in the heat, I find the MDR to be a little chilly. I normally am not someone who complains of being cold, but I think that it has more to do with the contrast of temperatures (being outside in the heat all day vs. being in the air conditioning). I always take a light sweater for dinner.
terri-eddie Posted March 22, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 22, 2017 I don't usually feel chilly in the MDR, but I do later in the evening, in the theatre or comedy lounges. So I always bring a light sweater to dinner, if I don't want to return to the cabin before our evening begins.
Davey Wavey Posted March 22, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 22, 2017 Temperature is so subjective. For every cruise, I am always cold in the MDR and in most public areas on the ship. My wife thinks its comfortable, but then again, she goes all through our cold winters wearing what I call a spring jacket. It has been cold enough that our dinner mates have left early. Bring something to be safe.
Drazil65 Posted March 22, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 22, 2017 We have been on many ships, a few different cruise lines and I have froze in every single MDR on all of the ships we have sailed in the last 15 years! Seems like a common denominator across the board when it comes to cruise ships. Always bring a sweater, shrug, shawl or scarf coverup to accommodate the AC in the MDR or you could be quite miserable during dinner.
navybaby1113 Posted March 22, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 22, 2017 I usually bring a sweater.
Jdfireman Posted March 22, 2017 #14 Share Posted March 22, 2017 Just like the rest of the ship too warm. Bring back the old days of cabins that you could hang meat in
MissKIA Posted March 22, 2017 #15 Share Posted March 22, 2017 I always bring a couple of cardigans or shawls just in case. I usually find it chilly.
Gamecock_Cruiser Posted March 22, 2017 #16 Share Posted March 22, 2017 Just like the rest of the ship too warm. Bring back the old days of cabins that you could hang meat in Amen! The comforter goes in the floor as soon as we go to bed! The rooms are way to warm !
