Ashland Posted April 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2017 Hi everyone,Happy cruising! We've sailed out of FLL before, but we usually book a noon or later flight and I can't recall how tight our timing was. We are sailing the Allure in December and I'm considering booking a 10:30am return flight because that is what is currently available at a good price. If we self carry and get up early can we easily make a 10:30am flight at FLL on Sunday, December 10th? Thanks for any advice. By using "Express Departure" you should be able to do this easily. We recently sailed Harmony and express departure started at 6:30am...so assuming it should be the approx same time for Allure.
navybankerteacher Posted April 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2017 You can probably make it - I would not use the adverb "easily". There are other large ships arriving that morning and FLL jams up fairly easily. If the fare is very good and you have an acceptable Plan B - go for it. If later flights are not too much more expensive and work time-wise, I would prefer to stick to around noon flight time.
Clarea Posted April 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2017 Should be no problem with self-assist disembarkation.
JohninDC Posted April 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2017 For a 10:30 flight you need to be at FLL by 9:00 - 8:30 is better as FLL can be chaos on a busy day. The cab ride from PE to FLL takes about 15 min (and should cost about $15) - if you carry your bags off, and if there are no delays, and if you can clear customs/immigration NLT 8:15 you should be okay. We prefer to sleep in, enjoy one last breakfast in the MDR, and fly home about noon or later. Your call.

Rare Keith1010 Posted April 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 22, 2017 I normally recommend later flights however Allure of the Seas is one where you will likely not have a problem. Keith
Reina del Mar Posted April 23, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Disembarked Royal Princess on Wednesday...Independents' group departure, leaving ship at 8.15 am. Through customs, having picked up luggage, caught taxi and checked bags into airline at FLL by 9.30 am. However, being a 'scaredy cat', I probably wouldn't chance a flight that early...we have to take an international flight though.
Rare Keith1010 Posted April 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Alllure is quite different then some of the other cruise line ships. They get in early and get folks off quickly. Keith
