gcbranscome Posted April 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Hi! What is the best time to make dinner reservations on the first day of your cruise for MTD. We sail away at 4:00, so I don't want to miss any festivities, but when do you have the safety drill? Sent from my iPad using Forums
Clarea Posted April 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Might help to know the ship and embarkation port.
BigHouseFootball Posted April 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2017 I would think anything after 5 will allow you to fully enjoy sail away. The safety drill is usually just before you pull away. On Allure last year the safety drill was done and before I could get from the theater to the top deck we were already moving.
cruzgryphon Posted April 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Typically when I've sailed with Royal Caribbean the muster drill has been 30 minutes before departure time.

gcbranscome Posted April 26, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Might help to know the ship and embarkation port. It's the Oasis leaving from Port Canaveral. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Clarea Posted April 26, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 26, 2017 It's the Oasis leaving from Port Canaveral. Looks like muster is at 4pm. I'd say anytime after 5:30pm would work.
BND Posted April 27, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 27, 2017 In Port Canaveral you are out to sea pretty quickly so dinner will not be impacted unless there's a delay. Muster is usually 1/2 hour to 45 min before departure.

TCBFlash Posted April 27, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 27, 2017 When we were on Oasis, the show (Hairspray at that time. I think it's Cats now) was at 8:45. If you are considering going to that show, keep that in mind so that you re done with dinner in time.
Jimnbigd Posted April 27, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 27, 2017 why do they do that [muster drill 30 minutes before sailing]? then you gotta rush up top for sailaway. Probably to make sure all passengers have boarded, since all passengers are supposed to take part in the muster drill. At least we don't have to take our life vests anymore to these drills. TBone2K Posted April 27, 2017 #14 Share Posted April 27, 2017 If you like the welcome aboard show, keep in mind it is usually only one time, and slightly earlier than the usual late show (7 or 7:30). Might want to plan around being done dinner in time for that as well.
