Want to avoid crowds in WJ and MDR

Recommended Posts

What ship and date?

Typically eating early can be the best strategy. Understanding your ship's alternative dining options can also be important.

The ebb and flow of the dining will be affected by port day schedules as well, so take that into consideration. With My Time Dining you can make reservations on specific days, so you might want to do some of that if you want to dine between 6:30 and 8 pm.

Avoid the "popular" times...very easy. At dinner from 6:45-7;30 will be the most crowded. Lunch in the WJ is most crowded around noon...breakfast...depends on the passenger mix...the dining room is the best option for breakfast. You are seated, without major waits and served! Very nice!

I have found if I eat breakfast before 9...usually 8 or 8:30, the WJ still has plenty of seats. Lunch is always crowded there unless you go right when it opens. As for dinner, we have never found the WJ crowded.

As for MDR, lunch doesn't seem to be crowded

What time do WJ and MDR open for breakfast?

This may vary by ship/itinerary. Which ship/itinerary are you wondering about? It was a while ago, but I feel like times were a little different on our Mediterranean cruise, than what we were used to in the Caribbean.

7 RCL cruises, we've NEVER not found comfortable seating for breakfast at the WJ.

Although there was one time (at lunch) in the WJ when we could not find any silverware/utensils to eat with. Waited 15 mins, nothing available so we left full plates of food on the table (food got cold) and went to the MDR.
