Just for fun, what is the single worst thing you have seen a carnival cruiser doing?

Recommended Posts

Just off the Carnival Magic today. Last night on Serenity many couples were enjoying each others company under the stars. Some were just laying there, some were cuddling, some were being passionate. There were definitely a few couples that had isolated clamshells from view that were enjoying some privacy.

One couple also did this, pushing the clamshell up against the glass. Only difference was they pushed up right in front of a light. As they went to town it was umm...projected on the back of the chair. Doubt they realized they were putting on a show. Most of us relocated to the other side of Serenity.

This was a couple Spring Breaks ago, but we were in the comedy lounge waiting for the show to start. There were still about 20 min to go so we were just chillin', talking, I might have had my E-Reader, I don't remember. What I DO remember is the toddler from hell.

I felt a slap on my arm and I looked up to see this toddler wearing a teeshirt and diaper (no shoes) running around the lounge, slapping people on the arms or the leg as he ran by them. Mom has her IPhone out, videotaping the whole thing and laughing like it's really funny. At one point, he climbed up onto the stage and took off his shirt. Somebody with his mom (his grandpa maybe? IDK) yelled 'Take it off. TAKE IT ALL OFF!" and I honestly thought the kid was going to remove his diaper as well. He flung his shirt out into the front row onto one of the tables, climbed down and continued to run around the room slapping people. Mom was doubled up in laughter, like this is the funniest thing she's ever seen. Eventually, he gets back around to Mom and grabs her IPhone, which he takes to an open spot between a couple of tables and starts to dance around. Mom didn't seem to care until he threw the phone down and started to tapdance on top of it. That made her really . A few minutes later, a staff member came over to her and asked her to please control her kid or get out. She kept her kid by her side after that.

There was also the time we went to Passion Island in Cozumel and were in the same boat with some teenage (like 17-18 yr old) girls who kept yelling "I AM GOING TO GET ALL THE WAY EFFED UP WHEN WE GET TO THE ISLAND!" the entire way. And then later, I heard one of them comment on how weak the drinks were and how they couldn't possibly get ALL THE WAY EFFED UP on drinks that weak.

I'm not sure I could have contained myself...

Saw all this on the Carnival Breeze.Men in the buffet area andbuffet line with no shirts on throughout the cruise. Babies in diapers in the hot tub with their parents. Drunk adults with glass glasses in the pool and hot tubs.Needless to say that was my last cruise on Carnival!!

Got probably my 5th ice cream cone of the day at around 11 PM and I see this kid with huge bowl with soft serve at a table nearby on the Breeze. He takes it and just smears it all over the table. He picked up the salt and pepper shakers and emptied them out the table and gave it a little stir while it dripped on the floor. Attendant yelled and he sped off. Felt really bad for her. So disturbing that this kid was acting alone. Self amusement...

I posted this in my review of Carnival Elation in 2011. The Chef Table was new, maybe about a year old. Still feel for the guy. Copied and paste from the review.

As I said before, there were eight couples and one couple brought their son. From the onset of the evening, this one couple was very “happy”. The husband was flat out obnoxious. He was loud, interrupted the Chef, and became worse as the evening progressed. As I am not a hypocrite, DH and I were also feeling no pain; however, we were able to control ourselves for the meal. This couple could not. He was loud and getting louder, and hostile in his voice. This is how I remember the bad got worse. At one point during the meal, DH said a four letter word, not the f-bomb, but it was describing how delicious something was, (you know, this S??? is fantastic). I reminded him there was a child at the table, to which DH apologized. Loud Man decided he did not like that and started to continuously curse in a hostile manner. This is when one couple arose from the table and announced they were leaving. I used the bathroom excuse to summon the Matre’D who was just outside and advised him they needed to call security, and DH went to speak with the Chef to do the same thing. When I returned to the table, the man with his wife were being escorted out of the room. DH convinced the other couple to return, and dinner went on without any more problems. According to the Chef and the Maitre’D, they have never had to kick someone out of the Chef’s Table. First time for everything.

Cudos to you and your husband for having the courage to correct the situation and persuade the other couple to return. I remember paying a whole lot of money for Chef's Table. Having someone ruin the experience for others isn't right.

The above items you mention also happen on other lines such as NCL or RCI. And if these things that occurred were so traumatic that you gave up sailing on Carnival, why are you wasting your time perusing and posting on the Carnival boards?

Sounds like another case of parents taking a vacation from parenting. They are also card carrying members of the "me generation".

You know this whole thread is designed to highlight how bad Carnival is. I used already to point a future cruiser in the right direction. This is Carnival's best publicity!

My thoughts exactly. Maybe they just like seeking out negative Carnival threads so they can dump.

Last cruise I went on I went to Kareoke Night. I performed "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor and got people up and dancing, which is fine, that was my intention. However, one of the girls that went after me was so drunk that she forgot the words to "If You Wanna Be My Lover" by the Spice Girls....which was the song she was performing! Normally, I would say that was unfortunate, but the words were right there in front of her on the screen! :D

This can happen on any cruise line or anywhere for that matter, but for me the public thing that bothers me most is watching people leave the restroom without washing their hands.

Don't be too quick to judge; I have gotten hoof and mouth from using a public sink. I am VERY wary of them - especially if they have water and stuff around them. I do carry hand sanitizer (and always use it before eating)- but you may not see me use it right after because I have exited the restroom.

Wasn't going to comment, but oh, what the heck. The only thing that really stands out to me, out of 7 cruises, was our last cruise on Liberty out of San Juan in September 2015, which was a great cruise and one of our favorites. We were in the buffet line and there was a gal in front of us...waiting in line like everyone of us, or so we thought. Some man (tall, big built but not "buff"), just shoved right in front of the gal in front of us when we were getting close to the bacon. He had an empty cereal bowl and when he reached the staff member passing out the bacon, he said "Fill it". She gave him a large portion and apparently that didn't satisfy him, so he demanded again "I said FILL IT!". Just rude and ignorant. I should have gotten a video of him doing this to post on YouTube. :') I've seen the videos posted of extremely drunk passengers.
