Just for fun, what is the single worst thing you have seen a carnival cruiser doing?

Recommended Posts

Man no offense but maybe you need to reevaluate some things if someone saying some bad words or practicing his craft would be enough to make you lash out in violence. Not a civilized look my friend.

A tender boat with a very captive audience is no place for that. I'm a little old fashioned maybe but unsolicited profanity in the presence of women and children is still a no no in my book. But of course everyone just sat there, myself included and let the idiot do his thing.

This is certainly not the worst, but without a doubt the craziest. I was on a cruise a while back, not sure which one, but it was just nuts. Insane. People put their towels down on chairs when they were swimming, but when they left the area they took their towels with them, so others could use the chair. Men would get up and give their seats to women or elderly people who were standing. Nobody wore shorts or t-shirts in the MDR. People were respectful and considerate of the other passengers, nobody acted like it was just their vacation and the hell with everybody else. It was truly surreal.

We were on the Vista last month watching a movie on deck at the Dive In. It was dead quiet ..... a couple to my left started arguing. She stood up and give him a right hook to the face so hard it knocked the sunglasses off his head and they flew about 20 feet across the deck. Everyone just started laughing .......

Obviously, I wasn't there, so I don't know if this guy deserved a punch in the head. For all I know, he just admitted to sleeping with her sister or something. Still, I'm wondering, would it have been funny if HE had given HER a right hook to her face hard enough to knock her sunglasses off?

Then he was the one who looked dumb and you all had a story and some exposure to something you maybe don't see every day;)

Just don't like to see good people - like I'm sure you are -look worse than the "offender" and maybe get kicked off the ship or something for being violent. One of the reasons I always liked Carnival was we could be with a family of blue collar workers, stock brokers, and hill folks from Ohio (us) and 99.9% of people get along and enjoy each other for the most part. It's like everything great about America, but on a boat with unlimited good food, booze and casinos. What's not to like?

Are you sure it was a Carnival cruise?

One lady told me she was from the Villages and gaped at me when I told her I didn't know where that was like the Villages are famous. They are famous for the highest VD rate in Florida.

Just like Palm Springs.

If you think the other poster was wrong about wanting to throw the punk overboard you've got another thing coming. What you consider "a craft" is what most decent people consider rude talentless loud mouth pieces of trash. I'm sure the decent folks were quite entertained with the punks toilet mouth and his family's encouragement. Perhaps his lyrics were a self description of himself and family.

Last Saturday, we were waiting to get our shuttle to the port of Miami. There was a full bus waiting to depart. Apparently they didn't have room for two more, so they turned away the couple waiting.

Some woman on the bus actually got off and started yelling at the poor driver that she "NEEDED TO BE AT THE PORT BY 12 NOON" and that the driver needed to hurry up.

Needless to say we saw her on the ship at 1 pm so I guess she didn't have to carry on like that...... ugh.

Just this morning we had a bus full of frat boys with the worst mouths ever talking some dirty language and all of that. Too bad to repeat or hint at here.

Oh, I'd never do it, just talk about it. I might say something but you are right, Carnival is a melting pot of sorts. I've never had a bad cruise. Maybe a bad moment or 2 on a cruise but I find it still beats work 100 percent of the time [emoji3][emoji924]

I'm a decent person and I like a lot of rap - even some with bad words. I also like a lot of movies with bad words. And death metal with bad words. And country music with bad words. Not _because_ of the bad words but because bad words aren't going to hurt anyone - even precious little ears - but throwing someone overboard will possibly kill someone. Isn't that a bit of an overreaction?

There was a winky emoji and a "funny" statement at the end of my post. I would not throw someone overboard :)

LOL. Not really sure that story (from 2009) is even true. Although there are lots of rumors ... lol. My parents live there and I'm in the town right next door. There are a LOT of residents now - The Villages is huge and growing every year. I would say likely the percentages of STD's are pretty much the same with other towns its size.

I dunno from what I hear from my friends parents who have lived there for quite some time, some freaky stuff goes on. :)

I think I also remember reading a story of a man and a woman getting arrested for doing stuff (use your imagination) on a bench in either one of the parks or on one of the golf courses.

Not that it's not a nice place, we visit them whenever we get a chance, lots of fun running around there on the golf carts and going to the parties, dinner and movies and such.

Not exactly on the ship but, on the way to it. A falling down drunk mother around 50 and her sober daughter. Daughter was trying to walk her down the pier and begging her mother to get on the ship. Mom was belligerent and trying to pull away from the poor girl. Mom wanted, "MORE TEQUILA!"...Thankfully someone from the ship came out to help get mom up the gangway. Terrible but, then again it was Cozumel, ;p

That poor girl. I sure hope I never have THAT much fun in Cozumel.

While at the swim with the dolphins excursion, we had a teen age girl "pet" the dolphin in his private area which we were told not to go near, the dolphin got super excited and wild, our group had to join another group and play with a different dolphin

About 7 years ago, DH and I were swinging through Lido to grab a quick dinner and the lady in front of us used the flat handled spatula to scoop up a piece of fish, sniff it and then PUT IT BACK.

I let her know that was NOT OK and she genuinely didn't get why it was a big deal.

Her words: I mean, like, I didn't lick it or anything.

...sigh...

And this is the reason why I HATE buffets!

Not really the "Worst" but comical - when visiting the Sistine Chapel inside the Vatican in Rome, they tell you Numerous times NO PHOTOS allowed in the Chapel - there are signs everywhere, too. I was sitting on the bench against the wall of the room just gazing in awe at the ceiling while this idiot woman and her camera were right in front of me, just clicking away. I whispered to her... "Ma'am - they do not allow you to take photos in here". She said back to me - and I am NOT making this up... "Oh, it's OK, I'm not Catholic".

Just remembered another one! Getting of the ship in Progresso, a woman was literally screaming at the port security officer for removing a banana from her bag. Even though we were told many, many times to not take fruit off of the ship. She was even yelling for Carnival security because the man was stealing her fruit.

Good times.

On the Magic a couple of years ago...listening to the band in Ocean Plaza on the first night and there were 2 women (55-60 probably) who must have had TOOOO much to drink and were dancing and grinding on everyone who walked down the promenade. The ship leaned to one side and one of the women started to stumble and unable to catch herself ran full speed into one of the columns - fell flat on her back, glasses shot across the floor and was out cold. Instantly everyone became silent, the band screeched to a stop and one of the band members called down to her and all of the sudden she shoots a "thumbs up" to everyone, and gets up like nothing happened. Her and her friend went off, presumably, back to their cabin and I didn't see them again for a couple of days.

Try sailing on a cruise that leaves San Juan the first part of December, when fares are pretty cheap and empty cabins are heavily discounted and bought up by the locals.

Our 2006 Destiny cruise was like this and we had a quad cabin on deck 1. You would have thought everyone was related to each other in that passageway! There was music, eating, games, you name it. We had to step over a lot of people.

Security...nothing.

This exact same thing happened to us sailing out of San Juan in September a few years ago. After that experience, we (a group of 35) agreed to never sail out of SJ. It was horrible! They literally took over the ship, five generation families and the worst was how rude they were rude they were. And the strollers!!!:mad::mad: Every family had multiple strollers on board and they would push their way through with the stroller. I lost count of how many times our ankles were banged. That was before we knew about price drops. We paid a premium for the cruise and I know we should have gotten on board credits.

I've seen a man with women's clothing and make up.

There was a person on our last cruise like this, but with a twist. Sometimes wore men's clothes, other times women's (long gown) and a few times a mixture such as men's cargo shorts and a woman's lace top. Man's haircut with acrylic nails. Admired them for their confidence.

What was unfortunate was that they decided to wear men's clothing in Puerto Vallarta. One of the few ports where no one would give you a second glance for being trans (-vestite, -gender, -sexual).
