dcl1710 Posted June 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2017 I know Princess does not provide Catholic or Jewish services anymore but what do they offer for Sunday? I have been told that if a Priest is on board and wants to do a service it is in the Patters. Is that true? We will be in Glacier Bay on Sunday when we cruise so there is no way we can walk to a church. Thanks for any advice in advance.
Rare Jeter02 Posted June 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Jewish services for the Sabbath Friday nights is still ongoing on Princess. But ti has always been, ran by passengers, and they have a small spread available.

Like you said if someone onboard wants to perform one they will usually put a notice in the Patter.
easyboy Posted June 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2017 The Priest can coordinate with Princess the intention to provide the services so it can be posted on The Patter. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Aus Traveller Posted June 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2017 On cruises we have been on, there has always been a Sunday Christian service. It has been run by either a clergyman/priest travelling as a passenger or by a member of the ship's crew. :)

If a priest is on board as a passenger there will probably be a mass on Sat. evening or Sunday morning. If no priest is on board there might be a non-denominational service, usually hosted by a qualified staff member if there is one on board. Notices will be in the Princess Patter. Astro Flyer Posted June 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2017 I've seen daily and/or Sunday Mass listed in the Patter when a Catholic priest who was sailing on the cruise wanted to perform Mass. Otherwise there usually is a non-denominational service conducted by passengers. Friends who have attended these services were very happy with it. dcl1710 Posted June 4, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted June 4, 2017 Thanks for the responses. I will have to hope we have a Priest on our Alaska cruise. But the regular service will be fine. It is Alaska and it is as close to heaven as it can be.

If a passenger is able and willing to conduct an interdenominational service, of praise and worship, then contact the cruise director to volunteer. It is best that you take a letter from your church showing your good intent. Every blessing.
