winewanderer Posted June 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2017 Hello, Belle, thanks for the thread. My weight is not going well. I gained 1 lb. plus I'm up a couple from before. This is not good! I'm in a bit of a funk since we moved.. I've got to get out of it. We'll see what happens next week. GoldConnection, congrats on your loss and being close to goal weight. Fabulous. Have a good week everyone. Diana
retiring soon Posted June 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2017 Hi all! Belle ~ thanks for the words of wisdom. Goldconnection ~ congrats on your loss & getting close to goal!(y) DIana ~ moving isn't easy. Hope you feel better soon. I guess a couple of buffets & some chocolate were what caused my 1.4 lb weight gain, oh & probably the lack of exercise.. Yikes, I should have been going down losing the cruise weight. Oh well, there's always next week!;) Have a good one! ~ Jo ~ :)

mdaviswv Posted June 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 15, 2017 Hi guys. Thanks much for the encouragement and the Fathers Day wishes! Miraculously I returned from our cruise last week having gained less than 1lb. Admittedly I tried not to go overboard with the food as much as usual, but I still never expected that to ever happen. I think part of my motivation was that I had met my precruise goal and didn't want to mess it up. Now on to the Oasis in November. Goal for this time is about 25lbs away but at least for once I'm not beginning by digging out of a criuise hole. Best of luck to you all! Good job losing cruise weight and doing it right a way. It's hard. You'll do it Forget the chocolate for a while. shootr.. Sorry your having a hard time. No one said losing weight is easy. You to were on a great vacation and it's hard to back to eating like we need to after. I know you'll be back on track soon. Mdaviswv.. Good job on the cruise. It's great to start the next 25lb loss without having to lose a big gain first. You'll get it off by Nov. cruise. I stayed the same. Have to try harder. Know I'll get my water in. TravelRocker Posted June 16, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 16, 2017 HI EVERYONE, Well, all in all I stayed the same this week. Undid a little Las Vegas splurge. Today was fun, massive parade and rally for the Golden State Warriors, 1 1/2 million fans around Lake Merritt. What a team...even though our cruise is like 8 months away we are getting very motivated and excited! See you tomorrow :)
Belle Posted June 16, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Cruise42.. Great loss again. You are doing really good each week. Give us your tips again. Help us all. Travel.. Glad they won but I couldn't go the parade with ALL those people. Did you go or watch on tv? Staying the same is better than gaining.
melodyrn Posted June 16, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Stayed the same here. I need to be more conscientious on this, working night shift this week and so hard to behave.
Marine91 Posted June 16, 2017 #13 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Down another 2 lbs this week putting me 8 lbs from my goal for our cruise at the end of July but I see no reason to stop once I hit it as I still have a long way to go in order to reach my end goal. Everything else will be a bonus and less I have to lose later.
winewanderer Posted June 16, 2017 #14 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Hello, Wanted to wish all the fathers a Happy Father's Day weekend. Here near Sacramento the heat is settling in, 100+ through next week. We're happy we moved, it's just getting used to new things. And, I hate the disorganization. Things will get better. Trying to eat better and going to the gym regularly so hope to post a loss next week. Diana

TravelRocker Posted June 17, 2017 #19 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Hi Belle, was going to go till I talked to some friends who went last time. They had to get to the parade route around 5:00AM! The speeches didn't start till around 2:00/2:30, way too much standing for me anymore. Watched from the comforts of home! Sure gave Oakland a shot in the arm AND we just found out the team paid for the Parade, how cool is that. We're going into a heat wave for a week, too bad, all our County Fairs are starting, gonna wait till after it breaks. Doesn't feel like you are losing anything when you feel "puffy". Just last week we had 3 blankets on the bed, down in the 50's, crazy weather!
Belle Posted June 17, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Good move Traveler. The parade and talking wasn't over till between 2 and 3 pm. And then had to get home! To much! It was very nice that the team paid for the parade and clean up. Oakland doesn't have the money to spare. I know weather crazy every where! sjudis.. Is it you don't like the attention or because they notice and then you think it's ok to eat because you look good? Our minds give us so much trouble. Maybe have to figure that out to stop eating to much. Rob.. Says it the best, join us. We're here to help. Your doing it for your health. Rob have fun on your cruise! Skiiergirl.. Hello! Thank you for checking on me and still liking my poems. Please join us even if not doing good. Maybe coming in each week with us you won't gain or if do will be a little. Melody.. Staying the same is better than gaining. Working the night shift must be hard eating wise. Really must be hard if change shifts often. but you can do it. Marine.. Good loss! Bet you'll lose more before your cruise. You got a good mind set to keep going after cruise. Diana.. I'm glad your happy you moved. You'll be happy when you finish putting everything away and find your way around. Guess what, where you use to live going to be in 90's and 100's too! Everyone have a good weekend. red212fire212 Posted June 20, 2017 #22 Share Posted June 20, 2017 HELLO!!!!!! Glad to see some losses and hope the gainers get back on it! I went on my AMAZING 14 night Alaska cruise... It was just WOW. I had in total, 23 days off track and gained 21lb lol, Boy did I make the most of it!!!!, got back on track a few weeks ago now and have lost 13lb of the gain, weigh in again tomorrow morning and should see another loss. Not got a cruise booked now and that's not good, but got a message off one of the couples we befriended on the cruise and they have booked Bermuda September '18 and want us to go... You never know! Have a good week Lorna.
mdaviswv Posted June 20, 2017 #23 Share Posted June 20, 2017 I think thats one reason I cant get my wife on a long cruise. Our weight gains in 7 days are usually pretty ugly. Thats awesome you are already down 13 of that! You'll be ready to sail again in no time! Sent from my LG-UK495 using Forums mobile app
Belle Posted June 20, 2017 Author #24 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Lorna.. Glad you had a great cruise. Off track 23 days and now your back and lost 13. Congrats. Md.. Please don't let weight gain stop you from taking longer cruises. Now I find the longer the cruise the less I gain. Shorter cruises gain more trying to eat everything in a shorter time frame. Why less on a longer cruise is I usually eat only 2 meals a day with dessert. I drink but not much. Walking the ship does help. So I and everyone.. We should go and ENJOY our cruises.. if we gain or not. When WE come back WE just get back on track.
