Rare BillOh Posted February 12, 2018 Author #401 Share Posted February 12, 2018 Yes, we sailed on Jewel in November, and sadly, the Thetmal suites are gone, replaced by these cabins. That is sad, the fact that they didn't oversell them was their own demise probably.
kingoftheicedragons Posted February 13, 2018 #402 Share Posted February 13, 2018 We're thinking of booking the Jewel of the Seas for our next cruise next January, so this thread is great. It'll be our first RC cruise if we do end up booking it.
kevshocker Posted February 14, 2018 #403 Share Posted February 14, 2018 As promised here are all 7 days of the compass that left on 2/4/18 We had a great time. This made me very sad to scan and upload b/c today would be a lot better on the jewel. http://docdro.id/dPhP9qZ The PDF was too big to upload in here so use the link above. jillmmax Posted February 14, 2018 #404 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Thank you so much kevshocker for taking time to post the cruise compasses. We are sailing on Jewel 3/25 - Southern Caribbean Itinerary. We are 4 adults with 5 kids (aged 8 - 17). We are doing my time dining- and due to our size (I'm guessing), we were limited with dinner reservation times. Most nights we are scheduled to dine in MDR at 8pm. I'm sure there are some nights that there will be movies, activities, etc that we will want to attend. Is it easy to change dinner reservations once we board? Folsom Posted February 14, 2018 #409 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Just what I needed to get ready for my trip in 6 weeks (same sailing). I noticed that lobster was not listed on either formal night. Is that only in the steakhouse now? Thanks for the posting
nicoleskr Posted February 15, 2018 #410 Share Posted February 15, 2018 According to another cruiser, lobster night was the 2nd formal night, and supposedly you just ask for them.

norwane Posted February 15, 2018 #413 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Hi - We are looking at going on the Jewel for the Southern Caribbean next January. I have a few questions. - How are the aft cabins on Deck 7 (specifically 7172 and 7174)? Any obstructions or issues? - Can the balcony divider be removed? We have friends in the cabin next to us. We don't need adjoining or a door in between the rooms, but it would be nice to be able to open up the balcony. Can the balcony dividers be removed on any of the cabins? - Given that it is a port intensive cruise, does it make any sense at all to do the drink package? We aren't falling down drunks, but had the drink package on our last Carnival cruise, and loved having it. TIA!
Clarea Posted February 15, 2018 #414 Share Posted February 15, 2018 ... Can the balcony divider be removed ... No, balcony dividers cannot be removed on Radiance class ships.

Clarea Posted February 15, 2018 #416 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Can they be removed on the Freedom of the Seas? Yes, the side facing balcony dividers can be opened with management approval. Aft balcony dividers cannot be opened.
cruizeblues Posted February 16, 2018 #417 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Thanks!! Chocolate donuts on yeaaa lol. And very nice that you can order eggs and bacon 🥓 to your room. So the 7.95 is per plate or 7.95 for the entire room order? Sent from my iPhone using Forums When did room service start charging for hot breakfast entrees? Is there a charge for snacks and lunch as well? Haven't cruised since 2014 and there was no charge back then (except optional tip)

Powersboyee2 Posted February 18, 2018 #424 Share Posted February 18, 2018 Does Jewel Port at the Pan American Pier or in Old San Juan? Pan American. Old San Juan is only for when ships visit as a port of call.
sull87 Posted February 18, 2018 #425 Share Posted February 18, 2018 Pan American. Old San Juan is only for when ships visit as a port of call. Gotcha. Thanks. Curious if anyone has tried Chef’s Table on Jewel and their experience.
