luckyinpa Posted October 17, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 17, 2017 so when is a good time to get to brooklyn for a 5pm sailaway. the official thing said 1pm boarding. i havent seen much about the boarding process here on the forums. is it easy and stress free :) i think id shoot for around 1030 or 11 and assume a long wait for checkin. KevintheIrishDJ Posted October 17, 2017 #14 Share Posted October 17, 2017 The pier is very easy. Did you get an assigned time to board?
luckyinpa Posted October 17, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 17, 2017 no assigned time. just said 1 to 4 i'm glad its easy. i've only ever been in manhattan for a cruise. do you drop off luggage then park or no biggie which way you do it? and on the way home is it the same deal where you can pay porters to get you to the head of customs and take your stuff to your car? jrobinso Posted October 17, 2017 #16 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Just disembarked at Red Hook on Saturday. Parking is $25 per day. Small uncovered lot next to the ship. We arrived about 10:30 and were on board before noon. We parked first and then took our luggage to the waiting porters . We chose to “walk off” to disembark. Easiest thing ever! No lines to find your luggage and absolutely no line at customs. We were in our car and driving out of the lot by 7am. Pay for your parking before you take your luggage to the car. There is an attendant in the lot that will help you.

jrobinso Posted October 20, 2017 #19 Share Posted October 20, 2017 thanks for the info. seems way too easy, i wont complain. with self disembark did you have to line up super early? on NCL it was a nightmare We chose a 7:00 walk off time (6:45 am was also offered). We did have to wait several minutes to get an elevator, but we were in the casino by 6:40. There were only a handful of other passengers in the casino. At 6:45 passengers started disembarking. Even though we had chosen a 7:00 time, we were allowed to go with the 6:45 group. This was our first time, so I have nothing to compare it with, but it was super easy. We will be doing “walk off” in the future.
