pdilme92 Posted October 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Hello all! I'm fairly certain I know the answer to this it's just so different I want to make sure! In the past on the cheers package when I got it (2016) it included drinks up to $10 menu price. No bottled water (if I remember right), energy drinks or coffee. Now i'm reading it covers any drink up to $50 dollars?! Also including specialty coffee, energy drinks and bottled water too? If thats the case i'm drinking top shelf liquor and my wife could get some niiiice wine on this trip! Like I said i'm pretty sure i'm reading this right but it is just such a big change I want to be sure! Thanks!

cpshaye Posted October 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2017 If thats the case i'm drinking top shelf liquor and my wife could get some niiiice wine on this trip! Yes, it's true. But don't let your wife get too excited about the wine. Very few selections of wine are offered by the glass. They run from about $9 to $13 a glass. They're alright but the really good ones are only offered by the bottle, which are not included (but you can buy them at a 20% discount with the package.) Sent from my iPad using Forums Im staring to wonder the same thing! From what I can tell the most expensive you can get is around $15-$20 so I wonder where they get $50 from? Maybe it just looks good and get people like me excited :'):beer-toast:

watermelonqueen99 Posted October 10, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 10, 2017 Yep. Cheers is the best value on the ship. Drink up, and have a great cruise. Lol :D
cruise_everywhere Posted October 10, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 10, 2017 Yeah $40 in the steakhouse bar is the most expensive - you can also get top-shelf liquor (Grey Goose XO, etc.) in your drinks at the Alchemy. I hear the Red Frog Bar also has a decently expensive rum but haven't tried for that yet - not $50 but around $20 for a pour.

mainescout Posted October 11, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 11, 2017 I asked for top shelf on most of our drinks. Much better plan than in the past. Between drinks I fit in several milkshakes. Next cruise I'm heading to the steakhouse bar just to see what they offer in the $40+ range.

Do you know if you can just go up to the bar in the steakhouse or do you have to have a dinner reservation?

bburk00 Posted October 11, 2017 #20 Share Posted October 11, 2017 Was on the Sunshine last week and had a $60 shot of Hennessey from the Steakhouse. So had to pay the $10 extra. Also had a $50 glass of Remy Martin on the Pride back in April, again from the Steakhouse.

happy cruzer Posted October 12, 2017 #22 Share Posted October 12, 2017 Don't worry too much about the wine. It will be acceptable. And FYI I don't think any of the cruise lines offer "great" wines in their packages. We think Carnival's included choices are as good as the other lines. Have a great cruise. cruisiebear Posted October 12, 2017 #23 Share Posted October 12, 2017 So, you can go to the Steakhouse Bar without having dinner reservations if all you want is a drink ? Cool, I didn't know that.
kbh2 Posted October 13, 2017 #24 Share Posted October 13, 2017 The wine on the ship is not good. They tend to push the Layer Cake which is horrid... They have some decent Pino Grigio if she likes that.
