2wheelin Posted October 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2017 Only experience was on another cruise line but we just requested wheel chair assistance when getting out of the car at the port. They came quickly with a chair and even escorted us through registration and on board ship. No hassle getting the chair you rented if they do that on Carnival. Then you can switch one on board. Tia Sent from my iPhone using Forums Call Carnival. They have a couple of companies that rent scooters and wheelchairs that will deliver them to your cabin before you arrive. eileenfa Posted October 21, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted October 21, 2017 Already ordered it. But it’s gonna be in the room and I can’t get in there til 130pm. That’s why I’m asking if CustomerService can get it. Last time they drop me off and I had no wheelchair. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

firefly333 Posted October 21, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 21, 2017 They usually have some wheel chairs once you get inside the port and a place to wait if you need them to wheel you on. Unless you are priority you arent supposed to get into your room that early, but if you are in a wheelchair, just go imo. Sometimes we have had to wait up to 30 extra minutes to get a wheelchair for my sister, so you may not board as early as others, be flexible
Nic6318 Posted October 21, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 21, 2017 What does that mean? I don’t get it? Sent from my iPhone using Forums Hi They will bring you to your cabin if the cabins are open. The cabins open around 1:30 p.m. They won't get your chair for you. You are better off delaying your check in. You don't mention your situation. If you were staying at a hotel the night prior to embarkation, the company supplying the chair could deliver it to your hotel and pick up on the ship after the cruise. If you are flying in the day of departure, you should consider buying a chair and flying with it. The cost of rental for a week starts to get close to value of a cheaper chair that you would have for this purpose ongoing. Try calling "special needs" number on the Carnival website and ask if they might accommodate you, but don't be surprised if they don't come through for you. good luck have a great cruise
eileenfa Posted October 21, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted October 21, 2017 Yup realizing it. I didn’t want to bring mine and luggage and other medical stuff. U would think Carnival would have someone to be able to get the wheelchair. It’s crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare Essiesmom Posted October 22, 2017 #17 Share Posted October 22, 2017 Your only surefire way to get to your cabin to get your wheelchair is to purchase Faster to the Fun (FTTF). Then you will have priority boarding and can go directly to your cabin. Otherwise, they will deposit you in the buffet or seating area of your choice to wait until your cabin is available and make your way there. Another suggestion is to call your rental company and ask if there is an option to claim the chair in the terminal before boarding. I have read here that they do this in some ports, or for some lines. Again, you might find this out on the Disabled Cruising board. EM
