Letsgo 2 Posted November 6, 2017 #28 Share Posted November 6, 2017 My wife and I have never sailed on NCL before so was this your first cruise OR have you cruised with NCL before. So sorry to hear about how 'the ANIMALS' act when it's feeding time at the buffet:eek: IF it's any consolation, we saw the same thing on the Oasis of the Seas, 10/2013 so as you can see SOME people/animals NEVER change their spots or manners:rolleyes: I told my wife, after witnessing such nasty habits,'You'd think, by their ungodly actions, they MUST think this IS their last meal. Or someone's gonna come and take the food away. I'm sure the buffet staff have seen worse, and probably do (and with some good reason) have such a low opinion of some Americans. No wonder some will NOT visit the buffet. Kids, I try to excuse because after they see HOW the adults slop at the trough? Mac I only want to ad, that it is very common behavior at any buffet at sea or on land

WashyWashyHappyHappy95 Posted November 6, 2017 Author #30 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Curious, What was your room number for your extended balcony mini suite? Don't see the need to disclose that. It was a starboard side M6 minisuite.
Dajbman22 Posted November 6, 2017 #31 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Perhaps the cruise lines should show a video on proper buffet etiquette as they do on safety in general?Probably the people who need to see it the most, would not bother to view it... RCI had a musical animated video about general hygiene including buffet etiquette re: using your hands and fresh plates/glasses that they played on one or two of the CCTV channels at least twice per hour (at least they did back in 2015). SmoothFlying Posted November 6, 2017 #35 Share Posted November 6, 2017 I only want to ad, that it is very common behavior at any buffet at sea or on land I ABSOLUTELY agree with you, Letsgo:eek: BUT.. I've seen more children do it on land based buffets(while their over indulged children-like parents, either ignore OR even worse, laugh at their child's 'antics'.) This, of course encourages the child to try and do it even more, thinking, 'Hey ! This MUST be okay ! Look at how hard Dad's laughing !!' Makes one wonder WHO actually is the real child here ?? No wonder the kids don't know any better. I guess they should stop the offending families from using the buffet but odds are they (cruise line) won't. MIGHT cause the 'bean-counters wayyyy back in the home office to lose a dime.So very, very SAD. Mac

They do provide it, but it’s a shampoo/conditioner combo also body wash. I bring my own because I don’t like what they provide, unless you are in the Haven those I like. darlene62 Posted November 7, 2017 #42 Share Posted November 7, 2017 I was on the Breakaway in April and I was looking forward to O'sheehans" dinner specials. I loved the BBQ ribs and prime rib nights. I liked their venue better than the MDR and other dining rooms because I get claustrophobic and they seem to get us seated and out the door quicker then the other dining rooms...I was devastated (fanning myself :)) that they had done away with the dinner specials starting with MY cruise. I hope that enough complaints that they brought it back.

I didn't pay very close attention, so I don't recall if they had nightly specials or not. I usually avoided O'Sheehan's because it's so close to the cigarette stink of the casino. I only ate there once late at night and once for lunch. Didn't notice any signage either time promoting specials.
theboatahoy Posted November 7, 2017 #46 Share Posted November 7, 2017 Maybe you could tell us what you did do, as a lot of the things people are asking seem to be things you didn't do. Charlie4 Posted November 7, 2017 #47 Share Posted November 7, 2017 HI, I was on the cruise also :) I hope I can jump in. I don't think you can use the dinning plan in Ocean Blue. Try to check that out. O'sheans does not seem to have themed dinner nights anymore. The shampoo they provided stripped my hair color out last time !!!! so ladies bring your own. There is a bar of soap by the sink, and body wash in the shower. We saw Burn the Floor (Dancing) - and LOVED it. We saw Rock of Ages and really liked it a lot. Alvin was great, I don't care for Dan Dan. I did a review on cabin 10848 Balcony if you want to see pictures. Smoking: Deck 8 Maltings, Pool deck port side, and casino
tadbconn Posted November 7, 2017 #48 Share Posted November 7, 2017 Asking for a friend who will be sailing on the Breakaway later this month and is new to cruising. Do you get wifi on the ship? Is it free or do you have to pay for it? Thx much.

On my Getaway cruise last time, they were also open for lunch time during sea days. but that was a while ago.
