Same for us. I usually book months in advance to get rooms next to or at least near each other with our family and friends. Sometimes it does make me a little sad to look at possible upgrades I could get but don't want to be away from the rest of our group

My wife and I would not turn down the upgrade, ESPECIALLY if we were traveling as part of a ground. We figure that we will be spending enough time with the other group members during the day, whether it’s a meal, or a show or an excursion. At the end of the day, we want our quiet .... we NEED some alone time from everyone else in our group, if only as a way to maintain our sanity. Having them next door or across the hall would be enough to drive me to drink. 😇😂

ON Freedom Class ships the ONLY regular rooms we will take are the Deck 12 Panoramic ones (they are SUPER COMFY and nice). So upgrading us from that to a balcony would not be an upgrade for us. However you offer me a GS or above on any ship and I'll take it. WE like the Amenities that come with the "Gold Card"

I have read many threads on here about free upgrades, or asking advice on purchasing an upgrade etc.

It got me thinking...

Even if I was offered a free upgrade, I would probably turn it down because I travel with 2 connecting cabins or a balcony cabin with the second cabin being an interior cabin directly opposite.

Would any of you turn down a free upgrade offer?

When I travel with my family, I would turn down an upgrade as my granddaughter stays in the cabin with me and her parents are in the cabin next to us. When I want to stay out late in the casino, she goes into her parents cabin.

When I travel with my sister, I'd be fine with one, but in all my cruises on Royal and other lines, I've not been upgraded so I am fine with the cabin I choose.
