Getting from airport in Copenhagen to cruise port

What is the best way to get from the airport to the ship. Is it expensive? Should we buy the transport package from the ship!

I would take a taxi from the airport to the ship. It will be cheaper and less waiting. Taxi to ship should be about $60-$65. Ship transfer is probably around $35-$45pp. taxis are easy from the airport plus there are free luggage carts avail at baggage claim you can take directly to the taxi stand. Taxis use meters and take credit cards

With a transfer to the ship from the airport, you may wait until the bus fills up. Taxi - no waiting.

On the way back, I would take the ship transfer....may cost more, but taxis may be harder to get at the cruise terminal - plus with the transfer from the ship there is no waiting and your bags appear at the airport under a tent with luggage carts nearby. You won't have to claim your bags by the ship and move them to the taxi yourself.

You can do it by train, taxi, or HAL transfer. One taxi fare calculator says almost $80. Another says $60. We didn't go straight from the airport to the pier, but spent the first night in a downtown hotel, which was about mid-way. IIRC we paid about $35 for each trip, including the tip. I don't know what HAL transfers would cost. (Our cruise was a T/A to NYC, so we didn't go from the cruise port back to CPH)

Distance:13.1 mi

Duration:34 mins

Start Price:$6.24

13.1 mi x $3.83 :$50.25

Waiting time (estimated 20.26 min):$22.12

Overall price (estimation):$78.60

Remember that this is estimated fare. The actual fare might differ due to the time of the day, tolls, works (available routes), different car companies, error in collecting prices and other human or software error.

Our answer would depend on the cost of the cruise line transfer. If they are charging you more than $30 per person, we would simply take a taxi...even if the cost were slightly higher. The reason is that cruise line transfers often involve waiting at the airport (or in the bus) until they fill the vehicle. While this sometimes means a short wait...there are times when it can mean sitting for 30 minutes or longer. With a taxi you simply walk out of the terminal, grab a taxi, and go. Taxis in Copenhagen are fast, clean, and accept many credit cards (MC and Visa).

I agree with these options. Mainly because there are few if any taxis when we got off the ship. A terminal worker told us the locals use the taxis at that time to take their children to school or for them to go to work. His exact words were "he did not understand why HAL vomits people off the ship knowing the situation at the terminal". Luckily we were able to catch a bus to the train station & then walk to our hotel as we were staying a few days after the cruise.

We've done both taxi and HAL transfer in Copenhagen. Taxi was much better in terms of both convenience and price. Early in our cruising life we used HAL transfers a few of times, but as we gained self confidence and learned that the cost of a taxi for two is generally about the same as the price per person for the transfers we have stuck strictly to taxis.

Hopefully you are spending a day or two in Copenhagen before your cruise. It's a great way to overcome the jet lag and Copenhagen is an amazing city to visit. When we went a couple of years ago, we stayed at a hotel near Central Station (the Radisson Blu...nice and reasonably priced at that time). We hopped on the train at the airport and took it straight to Central Station and then walked the 2 blocks to the hotel. The hotel was just across the way from Tivoli and the Stroget. Then we took a taxi to the ship on the day of departure. It was all simple and affordable.
