Received an email about disembarking at port everglades from our Silhouette sailing returning 12/17/17.

All people are to check their luggage and be transferred to the convention center. There are no express walk-offs.

What do you make of this?

Here's a link to a letter posted on Celebrity's web site about the disembarkation procedures for your cruise.

Where did you find that on their website? We're on the Dec 22 sailing on Reflection but I didn't get an email. Concerned about our early flight home if we can't walk off with luggage. Do you see the same procedure for that cruise?

Here's the link to all of the itinerary changes do date. Scroll down to Reflection for any changes to your itinerary. The embarkation, disembarkation port is changing to Miami for some Silhouette cruises. Even though our sailing is not effected, so far, since it ends in Fll on 3/4 and the 3/4 cruise embarks from Miami we could be in the same situation as the op.

Good thing you received an email about it, as it sounds like you (and others) have not looked at X's website about changes to ports on several sailings.

It would have been an even ruder surprise upon dis-embarkation....

bon voyage

Just got off the Silhouette today embarking and debarking were horrible because the terminal that was normally used for the Silhouette was being demolished for the Edge to use in December of 2018. Long lines waiting in the hot Florida sun to embark. We Embarked at Terminal 26 and parked our car. We disembarked at Terminal 29 and had to take a garage shuttle back to Terminal 26 to go back to the garage where our car was parked. Big problem was there was no help dragging the luggage from the terminal and then loading and unloading our heavy pieces of luggage on to the garage shuttle. Celebrity if you have to change Terminals when you disembark have the common sense to have personnel available to assist people who may have difficulty handling multiple large heavy pieces of luggage.

Sorry you had problems today. We also were on that cruise but we were through customs with the porter and he took our bags to the shuttle and the shuttle driver loaded and unloaded them. We had three suitcases and two carryons and a liquor carton. We were on our way in less than 30 minutes time.

It was a great cruise .

We experienced that fiasco boarding and disembarking X at this port a few times..even before the terminal construction....awfully inconvenient

Glad we cancelled Jan 2018 on Silho, looking forward to EDGE 2018

My take on this is that the OP was expecting a normal disembarkation in Fll since their cruise began and ended in Fll and there was no mention earlier that they would not have a normal disembarkation in Fll. We too are scheduled to disembark in Fll on March 4 and are aware that the cruise sailing on March 4 will embark in Miami. So far we have not received any notice of changes that would impact our disembarkation and flights.

You were lucky, we were not. No consistency with Celebrity with the garage shuttle experience. You definitely had lots of luggage and you would not have been happy if no one helped you.
