Steelers36 Posted November 29, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2017 If the card is not used completely on one cruise, may it be used on the next one? Yes, you can use any remaining punches for beverages there. No more free coffee/tea though after the initial cruise when the card was brand new. If you want to see a picture, look it up on eBay as there are usually one or two people selling extras there.
Lucky TGO Posted November 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2017 If the card is not used completely on one cruise, may it be used on the next one? Yes you can I just finish using a card I received 3 years ago. Tony

They'll be no more coffee cards issued after the Medallions are fully in effect as they won't be issuing any more cards. Everything will be done on the computer and that will end the selling of old cards on eBay. :(

It will just cost a punch instead of for free...

I've not seen anywhere that this is even implied. I suspect one might be able to load a card on the Medallion, but to claim that the cards are "gone" is premature at best. That's what they been telling the bartenders & barristers in their training. Maybe they'll issue you a card if requested.

Also the left over punches will be worthless if they don't give us our coffee cards. Also you are allowed to share your punches for coffee so how would that be accomplished if you don't share your medallion. Floridalover you need to back up your assumptions. CDay Posted November 29, 2017 #17 Share Posted November 29, 2017 I recently used an old coffee card to get a large cappuccino to go, and they used 2 punches. Is that normal? thanks!

That's what they been telling the bartenders & barristers in their training.Maybe they'll issue you a card if requested. If you say so. So if they'll issue one if requested why eliminate them? Even then it will be years, if ever, that ***** will be implemented in all ships. Until then, I'll be buying and using my CCs. I think a more likely outcome is that CC's are phased out and a different coffee package will become available. Still, it will take years to phase these out. Since the coffee credits won't be available on a digital version on every ship they'll have to continue to issue the cards until all the ships are in full operation. At that point it'll be a big money saver for Princess. No more cards that will be sold on eBay & no cards to be passed off to relatives or friends. I suspect that the even unused old coffee cards might be incorporated into the digital program once presented on another ship... but that's only my guess. I'll have to inquire. ep1987 Posted November 30, 2017 #20 Share Posted November 30, 2017 (edited) 1. I've seen it mentioned that you get unlimited hot chocolates on the cruise the card is purchased on, however this isn't stated on the IC menu. Has anyone ever had their card punched for a hot chocolate (does it matter whether you order a large or small)? 2. Is it true that if you want a large you also have to ask for it 'to go'? 3. What is the premium tea you receive with the card (it doesn't appear to be on the menu)? 4. If you order a cappuccino in the MDR do they go to the IC to get it? If so how long does this typically take (in case we're ever a bit short of time and want to get seats in the theater)? seajay312 Posted November 30, 2017 #21 Share Posted November 30, 2017 I just returned from the Regal Princess this past week and I used an older coffee card from a previous cruise with Regal and the ship's name (Regal) written on the back and the sailing number. One time it was turned over and my card was punched for a regular coffee as well as a specialty coffee. All the other times I used it, I was never charged (punched) for regular coffee but it was for the specialty coffees. It all depends on who is serving you. Sometimes they notice and sometimes don't. skf Posted November 30, 2017 #22 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Is it true that if you want a large you also have to ask for it 'to go'? Yes, the regular size comes in a china cup & the large in a paper cup. I thought I had read somewhere that you could exchange your Elite liquor selection for a coffee card. Is this still the case? Thanx, Steve

The folks in international cafe tell us it's all part of the transition to the new system. They ARE honoring those who already have them. If you don't have a coffee card you are being charged the individual drink prices. And also...we were at one of the bars when IT made a computer change. The bartender told us the picture now shows up when he runs your card for the drinks. He said it'll cut down on the sharing. This is current to the Grand. I have no knowledge about what is happening on other ships right now. Edited November 30, 2017 by idahospud

I have had a punch for HC on a used/old card. So, just like coffee. I have also been given free HC when I stop by late at night after playing poker in the casino and just wanted a half cup to go. #4 - If you are short on time, why not swing by the IC on the way to theater and order one to go?
