Scottygirl1 Posted December 4, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted December 4, 2017 Looks like it - they are spraying the hallways, have closed self service to the buffet etc.

Rare lyndarra Posted December 20, 2017 #13 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Just finished Ovation OTS 10 day NZ on 17/12. No more noro. Self serve in Windjammer. Crew constantly cleaning walls, hand rails, doors, door handles (several times a day). First time we've come across hand washing basins going into Windjammer and Solarium. MDR still squirt and rub. banzaii Posted December 20, 2017 #14 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Most alcohol handwash doesn't kill noro. Always wondered why they made such a fuss of using it when there's an outbreak. Sent from my SM-G930F using Forums mobile app
Rare lyndarra Posted December 20, 2017 #15 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Most alcohol handwash doesn't kill noro. Always wondered why they made such a fuss of using it when there's an outbreak. Sent from my SM-G930F using Forums mobile app I agree with you but there is some bacteria that it (sanitizer) will kill. I think that some seem to go OTT about using hand sanitisers. We follow normal handwashing protocol and have never had the noro bug even though it was present on a few of our 11 cruises. Maybe just lucky or have some resistance, who knows? Two years ago we had a 2 week tour of Mexico with a group of 26 other Aussies. About 3/4 were using hand sanitisers and more than half suffered from Montezuma's revenge. A 16 day tour of India last year about 1/2 of the 30 in group were using sanitizers and only 2 or 3 got Delhi Belly.
