pauly Posted December 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2017 For our cruise, which left Port Everglades and returned to Port Everglades with nothing to declare, we were not required to fill out form 6059B. It sped things up a bit. (y) I am sure this is not in all situations. YMMV.

CruiserBruce Posted December 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2017 That is discussed on the various threads. That changed about 2 months ago.
pauly Posted December 12, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted December 12, 2017 I wasn't aware of it before I left for Koningsdam. I don't have time to read all of the threads. I am just trying to help out if someone was glancing at the Florida Departure discussion board.

Capt_BJ Posted December 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 12, 2017 same at PC as mentioned but not sure it has sped anything up. it has simply reduced the amount of paper consumed, which ICE tossed in the garbage anyway .... (remember the government's paperwork reduction act?) Just off OASIS in PC where this new process is in place as well. No form to fill out. We got in the 'self off' group ..... we and about 1000 others wanting to be 'first' ..... and we wound thru the slowly moving line for about an hour b4 reaching an ICE officer who examined our passports .... no, we did not have to hand him a form ..... but they still checked our documents (passport) and it was still slow ..... I think there were 7 lines open and ICE was checking everyone's documents. And asking "did you buy anything?" ..... hmmm that's what was on the form wasn't it???? So if you want to get off FAST by doing self-off, be sure you are at the front of the line when the gate opens. We waited 30 minutes to join the queue thinking the 'me first - first' crown would be gone ... WRONG!!!!!! In retrospect, we 'selfed' thinking finding our bags with SO many pass' would be a problem .... THAT process seemed better organized. As locals we were in no rush and could have just sat around and had a cup of coffee or
2wheelin Posted December 13, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 13, 2017 Returned to PE Dec 3 where no paperwork required, app is in use but we were told to ignore it and join the regular line which was shorter. Self assist off the ship 30 minutes after first call (dismissed by decks) and only about 20 people in line ahead of us. Agent looked at passports and nodded, no questions asked. Whole disembarking process took only about 15 minutes from being called.
foflocruiser Posted December 30, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 30, 2017 THANKS, but this has NOTHING to do with that app. As a matter of fact, the app is not in use in Port Everglades, and we were told to put our cell phones away. It sounds like you came across staff that was not familiar. Mobile Passport App and Global Entry always available, in all terminals.
capriccio Posted December 30, 2017 #10 Share Posted December 30, 2017 It sounds like you came across staff that was not familiar. Mobile Passport App and Global Entry always available, in all terminals. Not always in all terminals. Mobile Passport was not available in terminal 21 on November 5th but it didn't hold up processing since the paper form was not required.

genovesemylove Posted January 4, 2018 #12 Share Posted January 4, 2018 We had the same experience in Miami this past October. We did not get declaration forms in our cabin so we were worried but breezed right through customs. Happy about the change.
