Kiwi Kruzer Posted December 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2017 13 Dec 2017 Ovation of the Seas is in Napier today. Napier brimming with cruise ship passengers http://www.nzherald.co.nz/hawkes-bay-today/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503462&objectid=11958774
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted December 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2017 Yikes! It was crowded enough with a Celebrity Solstice load of passengers (under 3000). I can't imagine what it would be like with 5000 passengers. Still Napier puts on a pretty good show for the cruise ships, playing up it's Art Deco era (minus the earthquake, of course). Great for the local economy. But not a nice place when the quakes hit. :(
Rare MicCanberra Posted December 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2017 When we were on the Ovation and called in at Napier, it didn't seem crowded at all and the townfolk were out in force and put on a great show for the people who stayed around the town rather than going further abroad.
