New parking advice for Port of Miami

Driving down to Miami this March to sail on the Equinox. We usually try to avoid Miami & sail out of Fort Lauderdale. Any suggestions regarding the best (and most economical) places to park would be greatly appreciated.:)

We come in the day before and stay at a hotel we find through one of the stay and fly/cruise sites. We've stayed at several different places and all have worked out well. Most of them have shuttles to the port (usually for a fee) and free shuttle from airport. We've done this when we've flown in the day before or driven in the day before.

When we drive to and sail out of Miami we never park at the port because we usually sail for 21 days at a time and that would be at least $462 for parking.

We like to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Doral the night before. It is 15 minutes from the port and they have a shuttle, free contintental breakfast and free parking. They tell you to make sure and give the driver your name and date you will be returning so that they can plan on picking you up.

Last time we parked there for 21 days and no problem whatsoever.
